Chapter 762 Investment
The restaurant's name was cute, and the inside looked pretty awesome, too.
That night, the resaurant was packed.
Heather leaned on her hand and said, "I think this BBQ spot is pretty dope, Natalie. Wanna throw some cash in together?"
Natalie's eyes went wide. "What?"
Heather said, "This place is run by Yancy's buddy Julian. He even asked me to invest, but I'm kinda on the fence. I just started my job and don't have much dough. If it tanks, I might come to nothing with Yancy."
"What's wrong if it's with me?" Yancy parked the car and strolled over.
Heather shot back, "What's good about it?"
Natalie thought for a sec and said, "Sure."
"What?" Heather looked confused.
Natalie said, "I think it's a solid idea. The spot's in a hot new area, not too deep in, so it gets good foot traffic. Plus, it's close to the subway, so getting here's a breeze. And the food's bomb and cheap. Look at this plate of meat, a few dollars for a huge portion, freshly cut. It's a steal. Way more than other places."
Yancy said, "You've got a good eye. But Heather here, no matter how much I try, she won't budge."
Under the table, Heather gave Yancy a light kick.
Yancy grinned, bent down, and grabbed Heather's foot under the table.
Natalie, clueless about the under-the-table action, just saw Heather's weird expression. Natalie said, "Is it hot? Should I turn down the AC?"
Heather replied, "Not hot. It's perfect." She glared at Yancy, who then let go.
Heather added, "Natalie, if you're in, I'm in."
Yancy whined, "No matter how much I try, it's no use. But as soon as Natalie says it, you're on board. Heather, you're really dissing me."
Heather shot back, "Why should I care what you think? Of course, I'll listen to Natalie."
Yancy stroked his chin and said, "Julian will be up in a bit. I'll introduce you and we can talk investment. Julian's looking for backers. If he knows a big star's interested, he'll flip."
Soon, all the food and meat they ordered arrived.
Natalie had a bit of a fever and couldn't handle spicy food, and Heather wasn't into spicy stuff, either.
Midway through the meal, a young man walked up.
It was Julian.
Julian said, "Hey, you guys made it. It's been crazy busy today, we ran out of stuff and had to get more. Just wrapped up."
Heather stood up and sat next to Natalie.
Julian came over to Yancy's side. Seeing Natalie, he froze for a sec. He thought Natalie was stunning, not in a flashy way, but gentle and comfy, not sharp.
Julian was dazed for a few seconds, his face turning red.
Seeing this, Yancy kicked Julian.
Julian then coughed and said, "Hey, I'm Julian."
Natalie held out her hand and smiled softly. "Natalie."
Julian's palms were sweaty. When Natalie smiled at him, he almost lost it. He lightly shook her fingers and quickly pulled back to nervously wipe his hand on his pants under the table. "You're Heather's friend, which makes you my friend. Need anything, just holler."
Yancy snickered to himself, 'This guy's hopeless. He's a mess around pretty girls.'
Yancy said, "Natalie's decided to invest in your BBQ joint."
