Chapter 1380 No More Love in This Life
If God gave her another chance, she would forget Jamie forever.
Never to love again.
Jamie, this is the end for us.
Rachel slowly closed her eyes.
Her eyelashes were frozen, and she leaned against the door, seemingly merging with the ice crystals.
Inside the banquet hall, Elmer noticed something was off. He searched everywhere for Rachel but couldn't find her.
Because of Rachel's disappearance, Kamille had to cut her birthday party short. The celebration was already winding down. Kamille sent people to look for Rachel.
Many guests in the hall were discussing the fact that Elmer's wife was missing.
In the lounge, Natalie frowned slightly. "What's going on outside?"
Zanna was helping her remove her makeup when Heather walked in. "Looks like Elmer's wife is missing."
"Have they found her?" Natalie closed her eyes as Zanna worked on her eye makeup.
"No, they've been looking for quite a while," Heather said, moving to help Natalie pack up her things.
Zanna was curious. "Who is she? I saw even Kamille showing some respect to the Roach family today."
They didn't know much about Redwood Isle, only that Kamille's status was already quite impressive. But even Kamille seemed to show some deference to Elmer.
Heather explained, "Elmer is probably the son of Isaac, the head of the southern district. Technically, he's on the same level as Kamille. But I've heard he's not in good health, so he rarely attends events. His wife, Mrs. Roach, is his newlywed. They haven't been married long. They seem quite loving."
"I don't know what's going on. Earlier in the hall, I thought I heard someone calling my name," Natalie said, rubbing her temples. "I heard Rachel's voice. Do you think Rachel could be here?"
"Natalie, you must be exhausted," Heather said. "Why would Rachel be here? Suncrest City is so far away. How could Rachel be here?"
Natalie sighed. "I guess I'm overthinking it."
"Natalie, Rachel will be fine. She might be found soon," Heather reassured her.
Natalie looked tired from the day's events. She told Heather, "Tell Kamille and Matilda that we're heading back to the hotel."
"Okay."
"Mr. Roach, Mrs. Roach is missing!"
"We've searched the banquet hall and all the restrooms, but we can't find Mrs. Roach."
"We asked the security at the entrance, and no one saw anyone leave the hall. Since the party started, very few people have gone out!"
Elmer listened to the report, clenching his fists.
"Keep searching. Lock down the entire hall and comb through the whole hotel! We must find Eve. No one leaves until Eve is found!"
This statement immediately caused dissatisfaction among the guests.
"Why can't we leave? This is too much!"
"Yeah, Mr. Roach, finding your wife has nothing to do with us."
"Let us out! Who gave you the right to keep us here?"
Kamille approached, her demeanor elegant and composed, with a smile on her face. "Elmer, Eve's disappearance is indeed distressing and unexpected. But many of my guests have come from all over the country and hold distinguished positions. It's not appropriate to detain them here. I've already instructed my staff to fully cooperate in searching for Eve. Let my guests leave first."
