Chapter 461 You Are Indeed Not My Biological Daughter

Rosalie's face went all stiff for a sec. She didn't see that question from Natalie coming. She looked kinda shocked and didn't know what to say, feeling all guilty. She didn't turn around right away, too scared to face Natalie.

She stuttered, "What are you talking about, Natalie? Why would you ask me that?"

Natalie checked out Rosalie's face. "Mom, don't you think you're way too worried about Alice? Even back when we were with the Cullen family, you were always looking after Alice since she was a kid. But now, we've left them, and you're not their servant anymore. We got nothing to do with them now."

"Natalie, I just..." Rosalie was caught off guard and couldn't find the words.

Natalie sighed but didn't dodge the question like usual. Instead, she asked, "Mom, am I your real daughter?"

She'd been wondering about this for a long time. She kinda knew the answer but wanted to hear it from Rosalie herself.

Rosalie's face got all weird. Her lips were trembling, and she was shaking. She looked deep into Natalie's eyes, her pale lips moving like she wanted to say something, but nothing came out. A sharp pain hit her heart, and she clutched her chest, gasping and slowly bending over.

Natalie rushed over to help her. "Mom, are you okay?"

Rosalie grabbed Natalie's fingers tight, scared that if she let go, Natalie would vanish. "Natalie..."

"Mom." Natalie looked at Rosalie's pale face, feeling super guilty and torn up. "I'm sorry, Mom. I was too impulsive today. Let me help you rest."

"Natalie, it's my fault. I've wronged you." Rosalie held onto Natalie's fingers. "Natalie, don't blame me. I feel so guilty towards you."

As Rosalie spoke, a tear rolled down her cheek.

What she said next made Natalie's eyes widen. "I don't want to hide it from you. You are indeed not my biological daughter."

Natalie started shaking, her face going pale. She kinda knew the answer already, so she wasn't totally shocked. But hearing it from Rosalie still hurt like hell.

Logically, Natalie should've asked who her real mom was.

Rosalie was ready to answer, but Natalie threw her a curveball. "Then what's Alice's deal with you?"

Rosalie's eyes widened, and her mouth went dry.

She felt super guilty and sad. She had to face a secret she'd kept for over twenty years, especially having to say it in front of Natalie.

Rosalie had thought this secret would go to the grave with her.

Right then, in front of Natalie, all the lies fell apart. Her guilt towards Natalie hit its peak. Because of a moment of weakness, she had swapped her own daughter Alice with Avery's daughter Natalie.

She seemed to age ten years in an instant. Her already thin and sallow skin looked even worse, her lips deathly pale. She looked at Natalie, her eyes filled with tears and clouded. "For the past twenty years, I've felt constant torment and guilt. Natalie, I'm sorry."

Natalie opened her mouth but didn't know what to say.

Rosalie spilled the beans, "Twenty-three years ago, Curtis married Avery. But at that time, I was still seeing Curtis on the side. Even though I married Stanley, we lived in the same villa, so I kept running into Curtis. I hated Avery. Avery took Curtis away from me. Curtis and I had been in love for years. If it weren't for Avery, Curtis and I would've had a happy family. You could say it was out of revenge. Curtis and I were secretly together, and I got pregnant. Avery was also pregnant at that time. I had a premature birth, and Avery and I had the same pregnancy period."

Natalie kinda guessed what was coming next, and she couldn't help but shake all over.
