Chapter 896 Asking for Help
The Cullen family wasn't having it. They said if Sandra dropped the lawsuit, they'd give her a sweet settlement.
At 8 AM, the detention center officer told Curtis and Avery they had to leave.
With no other option, they headed straight to the Hall Group instead of going home. The Hall Group's office was on the 8th floor of Skyline Tower, not far from the Cullen Group. When they walked in, the receptionist seemed to recognize them. "Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Cullen, Mr. Hall isn't here."
Curtis frowned. "Not here? He is here! Tell Vance Hall I'm waiting right here! If he doesn't come out, the Hall Group will regret it!"
The receptionist looked a bit uneasy but made the call anyway.
Ten minutes later, she said, "Mr. Hall will see you in his office."
Inside, Vance lit a cigarette. "You got the nerve to come here requesting a financial settlement? I'm not short on cash. Just because you have the Howard family backing you doesn't mean you can push me around. No way we're settling! Sandra's getting engaged next month, and your daughter messed up her face. What are we supposed to do now? Sandra locked herself in her room last night and won't come out. If anything happens to her, you guys are in big trouble!"
Vance couldn't stand Curtis, who had always relied on Avery's family and then latched onto the Howards through Alice.
Even with the Howard family's backing, the Cullen Group's annual profit was still less than the Hall Group's.
Plus, Curtis had used the Howard family to steal a project from Vance before.
There was bad blood between them!
Avery couldn't act tough now. She softened her tone and pleaded, "Mr. Hall, let's keep the peace. How bad is Sandra's injury? Alice was just being immature. I'm really sorry. We'll take full responsibility for Sandra's face. The Cullen family will spend whatever it takes to get the best doctor for her. If there are any scars, I'll make Alice pay!"
Avery gritted her teeth. "If Sandra has even one scar, I'll make sure Alice has one too! And we'll hand over the SkyNav AI project to you."
This project was a big deal, and Curtis had worked hard to get it. Now they had to give it away. It should be enough!
Avery just wanted Alice out of the detention center ASAP.
Curtis clenched his fists but, thinking of Alice still stuck in there, nodded.
Vance thought for a moment. "Mrs. Cullen, you're more reasonable than Curtis."
Avery knew Vance was softening and quickly said, "It's Curtis and Alice's fault. We'll fully cooperate and cover all medical and emotional expenses. We'll take full responsibility for Sandra."
As long as Alice could get out of the detention center first, everything else could be worked out. The longer this dragged on, the worse it would be for Alice's reputation.
Vance took out his phone and made a call home.
At the Hall Mansion, Gabriella Jade looked worriedly at Sandra's face. "Sandra, does it still hurt?"
Sandra covered her face and took a bite of a grape. "Of course it hurts. I don't know when it'll heal. If it messes up my engagement next month, Alice is gonna pay!"
