Chapter 1288 The Withdrawal Crisis
Natalie had already removed her makeup, and Beatrix had arranged for the driver to wait outside. After exchanging a few pleasantries with the brand manager, Natalie left.
On the way home.
Lloyd was driving, and Natalie reclined her seat and put on a face mask in the back.
Beatrix was discussing the schedule for the upcoming week.
In addition to filming, there was a business event.
U&M's event, the opening of a new store in Suncrest City.
Rebecca would also be there.
So, as the brand ambassador, Natalie had to attend as well.
Beatrix thought for a moment and said, "Natalie, I know you don't pay attention to gossip or anything outside of filming, but there's something I need to tell you. Recently, Wendy seems to be reconnecting with U&M. When you signed with U&M, there were no exclusive terms preventing the brand from finding other ambassadors. Wendy has been getting close to the brand lately, and there seems to be a potential collaboration."
Natalie always maintained a gentle demeanor in public.
She had had a few run-ins with Wendy.
Natalie didn't think much of it, but Wendy had sold her shares in Dynamic Entertainment and left the company, showing how seriously she took the matter.
Natalie was not one to fuss over such things.
However, if Wendy did become an ambassador for U&M, even Natalie, with her gentle nature, would need an explanation from the brand.
Coincidentally, U&M's new store opening in Suncrest City would be attended by Rebecca, so Natalie could address it with her in person.
"Have you told Heather about this?"
"Not yet. Wendy only recently started reconnecting. I'll tell Heather when we get home."
It's an industry rule that a brand can't have two ambassadors of similar status to avoid fan conflicts and behind-the-scenes competition between teams.
They arrived home.
Natalie took a shower and changed clothes. She was reading a script on the terrace and had a video call with Heather.
Heather was already aware of U&M's contact with Wendy. She said she would finish her work and be back in a day or two.
Natalie noticed in the video that Heather had lost a lot of weight.
As an artist, Natalie was already slimmer than average, and Heather, who had a great figure, now had a noticeably sharper chin after just half a month.
Heather rubbed her temples, "A recent project failed. It was going well, and we expected to start this month, but three investors pulled out just before we were set to begin."
"Didn't you already finalize everything?"
"Yes, everything was set. The script was well-polished, and I had high hopes for it. It felt like a hidden gem. But now, it seems impossible to start."
"Is it just because of this? Heather, if you believe in this project, go for it. Dynamic Entertainment should have some liquid funds, and I have money too. How much do you need?"
Heather knew Natalie would help her. She looked at the video, "The problem doesn't seem that big. I can find new investors to solve it. But this is the second time a project of mine has lost funding just before starting. It's as if these investors coordinated; they all seemed enthusiastic at first but then suddenly pulled out."
