"Why did Eddy take on this mission?"
Briar bit her red lip. "Because of the money. Kirk offered too much. None of us ordinary people could resist the temptation of money."
Derek didn't fully believe her words.
"Is it just because of the money?"
Stefan said, "What else could it be? Derek, Eddy's life is uncertain now, and there are only five days left until the next cruise opens. If he doesn't come out by then, you know, no one can survive inside the cruise ship for that long."
Briar didn't hear Derek's response.
She started to cry.
Her voice trembled as she pleaded, "Derek, we all grew up together. My dad was one of your teachers too. Please, save him."
Only Derek had once survived an experience on the Ocean Harmony, and only Derek knew how terrifying that cruise ship was inside.
Derek looked far ahead. "I have some things to take care of right now. I'll contact you all tonight."
"Okay." They knew Derek was a man of his word.
If he said he'd contact them tonight, he definitely would.

"Derek, why are you at the hospital? Wait a moment, I'm dealing with a patient right now. I'll come down to find you once I'm done."
Derek sat on a bench in the lobby of the inpatient department. He said, "No rush."
Although Aurelia was the youngest daughter of the Price family, showered with love and attention, she was independent and didn't want to accept help from her family.
After graduation, she got into the largest local hospital on her own and became a surgeon. She had now completed her internship and learned a lot from her mentors.
After finishing her tasks, Aurelia washed her hands and told a colleague, "My boyfriend is here to see me. I'll go down for a bit. Call me if you need anything."
"Boyfriend? Aurelia has a boyfriend?" Daphne was a bit surprised. "When did this happen? We didn't know at all."
"Just recently, Marc Murray from cardiology was asking me about your schedule for next week. If you have a boyfriend, Marc will be heartbroken."
Aurelia applied hand cream. "Marc is just a classmate. We both graduated from the same medical school, so we know each other." She had no feelings for Marc.
"Poor Marc. But Aurelia, you're so outstanding that your boyfriend must be exceptional too."
The doctors and nurses started laughing.
Aurelia said, "He is indeed quite impressive."
She smiled. "Alright, I won't chat with you all anymore. I need to hurry down. He's been waiting too long."
It had been over 40 minutes.
After speaking, Aurelia hurried downstairs.
She jogged to the first floor but couldn't find Derek. She looked around but still couldn't find him.
The first floor of the inpatient area was crowded with people handling payments. She searched around but couldn't find Derek.
Aurelia bit her lip. Had he left because he waited too long?
