Chapter 510 Farce

Alright, so here was the deal. Charlotte King, this big-shot actress from back in the day, was supposed to strut her stuff on the red carpet next. But guess what? She'd got beef with Eunice Cox. They both kicked off their careers in the same flick, and ever since, their fans have been at each other's throats. Eunice was slotted to show up three spots after Charlotte, and Charlotte was not having it.

It was because the later the celebs walked the red carpet, the bigger the deal they were.

The biggest star always went last.

Even though they were from the same company, they both wanted to steal the spotlight. When the lineup was announced, Charlotte’s name came before Eunice’s, but Eunice was set to walk after her. Charlotte was fuming, and their teams started throwing shade and causing a ruckus backstage.

Neither of them wanted to go out first.

So, the red carpet action came to a screeching halt.

Natalie, rocking a white backless gown, was chilling backstage. She was supposed to go first since she was the new kid on the block, but Mindy had her slotted for the middle, so she was just hanging out.

Then, a staff member rushed out with some urgent news.

Heather turned to Natalie and said, "Natalie, because Charlotte and Eunice's teams are acting up, we're sending you out now to keep things moving. The reporters might throw some questions your way."

Heather was a bit on edge since this was all last-minute and there was no script.

Natalie just nodded. "Got it."

Lately, there was buzz that Natalie was gonna star in Oscar's new drama. Some folks were shocked, while others thought she had some connections because landing a role in Oscar's film right after debuting was a huge deal.

But Natalie didn’t have a big fanbase yet. The company made newbies post pics on Facebook every couple of weeks.

Natalie had posted a few chill selfies, with light makeup and a laid-back vibe, getting a few hundred comments.

Still, she hadn’t released any work yet, making her a total newbie in the biz.

Her dress wasn’t too flashy. She didn’t want to show off too much; as a newcomer, she needed to keep it low-key. She picked two gowns of the same style but different colors, backless with a deep neckline. The white gown had no extra bling, and her hair was tied up gently. Under the photographer’s lens, her back looked flawless and smooth.

Natalie lifted her gown and hit the red carpet.

She didn’t drag her feet like other newbies who milked their moment. She walked the 20-foot-long red carpet quickly, hit the signature board, signed her name, and turned to smile and greet the media.

The host, seeing Natalie like a lifeline, listened to his earpiece and quickly asked, "Alright, Natalie, I heard you just joined Dynamic Entertainment Media this year and have filmed two projects. Can you give the fans a quick rundown?" He paused, realizing she was a newbie with no fans, and corrected himself. "Tell me about these two projects."

Natalie took the mic and gave a brief intro about herself and the two projects.

Her voice, amplified by the mic, was soft and clear, with a hint of huskiness, really easy on the ears.

After the intro, she handed the mic back to the host and was about to bounce.

Backstage, Charlotte and Eunice’s teams were still going at it, and the red carpet lineup was still a mess. The host wasn’t about to let Natalie leave and quickly called her back.
