Chapter 983 The Concert
Haven thought to herself, 'I'm attractive, and even though the Clark family isn't as prestigious as the Howards, we're still a big deal in Vachilit. Our families go way back. But Adrian doesn't even look my way. He'd rather marry Alice, who comes from new money, than give me a chance. I think I'm perfect. I have tons of guys chasing me, but I don't like any of them.'
Just then, Brice walked over. "Ms. Clark."
"Mr. Collins, did Adrian send you to me? Is he done with work?" Haven asked, standing up with a hopeful smile.
Brice replied, "Ms. Clark, Mr. Howard is still busy. If you have something to say, you can tell me, and I'll pass it on."
Haven forced a smile. "Alright. I have a concert next week and left two tickets for Adrian. I wonder if he's free then."
Brice took the tickets. "I'll let Mr. Howard know."
Haven walked away, feeling down.
Brice headed to the CEO's office. He knocked on the door.
Natalie's voice came from inside, "Come in."
Brice walked in and saw Adrian and Natalie by the bookshelf. Adrian was on a ladder looking for a book, and Natalie was standing by, occasionally taking books from him.
Brice approached them. "Mr. Howard, Ms. Clark wanted you to know she has a concert next week and left you some tickets."
Adrian said, "I'm busy. Decline it for me."
Natalie glanced at the tickets. The seats were on VIP spots, showing how much Haven liked Adrian.
"These are limited edition. Haven's concerts always sell out. She gave you tickets and invited you, and you're just gonna refuse? That's kinda harsh," Natalie said.
Adrian smiled faintly. "So, you think I should go?"
Before Natalie could answer, he added in a low voice, "If I go, will you be jealous?"
"I won't be jealous," Natalie said, turning away with a huff.
Adrian climbed down from the ladder and told Brice, "Tell Haven I'm free next Saturday."
Brice looked surprised, glancing between Adrian and Natalie. "Yes, sir."
Brice left the room.
Natalie wrapped her arms around Adrian's waist, stood on her tiptoes, and playfully bit his chin. "You're really going?"
"Didn't you just say I am being too harsh? I'm just following your advice," Adrian said, gently cupping her face. "Still think I'm heartless?"
Natalie pretended to pout. "Do you always do what I say?"
"Yes," Adrian replied casually, but his eyes were sincere.
"Then I want you to..." Natalie bit her lip, hesitating for a moment. "Then I want you to spend the whole day with me tomorrow." She wrapped her arms around his neck.
Adrian bent down and picked her up, his large hands supporting her. "Alright, the whole day is yours. Day and night, I'll be with you."
Natalie tilted her head. "No need to wait until night."
"If not at night, then now," Adrian said, his voice growing huskier as he carried her to the resting area inside the CEO's office.
