Chapter 976 The Truth

Rosalie froze for a second, avoiding Alice's eyes, and gave a small nod.

Alice clutched her hand tightly. "How did Natalie find out? Do you realize you've ruined me? What am I supposed to do now?"

Alice looked like she was going through hell, her face all twisted up.

Rosalie knew Alice couldn't handle it. "Alice, I know I messed up. But everything in the Cullen family actually belongs to Natalie now!"

"No! It's mine! No one can take it from me!" Alice looked like she was losing it. She glared at Rosalie. "You can't tell anyone about this. If you care about me at all, you'll keep this secret forever!"

"Alice!" Rosalie almost begged, "I've saved up some money. I'll give it all to you, okay? Leave the Cullen family and come back to me. We can't keep taking Natalie's stuff. I owe her too much!"

Alice shook Rosalie off. "That's your debt to Natalie, not mine! She stole my boyfriend, and now my engagement with Adrian is off! I have nothing left. I'm Curtis and Avery's daughter! How much money could you possibly have? It's not even enough for one of my bags! I have nothing to do with you!"

"Alice." Rosalie's heart broke.

Alice covered her ears.

Rosalie sobbed, "It's all my fault. I'll go explain everything to Curtis!"

Rosalie wanted to give back everything that originally belonged to Natalie. Natalie didn't care before, so the Cullen family never knew. But now that Alice knew, it had to be set right.

Alice was shocked when she heard this. She grabbed Rosalie, "No way! You can't say anything!"

Rosalie had made up her mind. She owed Natalie too much. She believed Alice was good at heart, just not able to accept it right now. "Alice, listen to me. These things were Natalie's to begin with. We need to give them back."

"No! They're mine! I'm Avery and Curtis's daughter, not Natalie!" Alice was both scared and desperate. She grabbed Rosalie, not letting her leave. She knew that if Rosalie told Avery and Curtis the truth, she'd lose everything.

Rosalie was determined, breaking free from Alice's grip.

Rosalie took a few steps forward. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head. She turned around, shocked and disbelieving, to see the stone in Alice's hands.

"Alice." Rosalie managed to whisper. Then she slowly fell, blood pouring from the back of her head.

Alice held a stone she had picked up from the ground. She watched Rosalie fall, and fearfully stepped back, thinking, 'I didn't mean to hurt Rosalie. But she's going to tell! She deserves it!'

Her hand shook, and the stone fell from her grip.

Alice couldn't bear to look at Rosalie. She quickly threw the stone into a nearby well and turned to leave.
