Chapter 901 Diana is Interrogated
When Yasmin saw Marshall, she jumped up and begged, "Mr. Banks, I messed up. I got greedy. Please, forgive me. I know I was wrong. Just let me go."
Marshall replied, "Yasmin, the dress you spilled wine on last night? It's worth $3 million. We sent it for cleaning, but the wine ruined the fabric. You need to pay for it. We've already called the cops, so you'll have to explain it to them."
Yasmin's eyes went wide with panic. "What?"
Thunderstruck, She knew the socialites at the event wore dresses worth at least hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Marshall continued, "You work in top-tier hotels, so you should know that last night Ms. Teeger was with Ms. Cross. Ms. Cross's dress is a limited edition, almost priceless. If you damaged her dress, the compensation would be even higher. I know you can't afford it. Just tell the police who put you up to this, and it'll lessen your burden. After all, she's the mastermind. We also have surveillance footage."
Yasmin agreed and followed Marshall's advice. When the police arrived, she confessed right away.
She handed over the bracelet Diana had given her last night. Diana's fingerprints were all over it.
The police immediately checked the fingerprints. Because the dress was so expensive, they went straight to Diana's house.
Diana had been on edge since hearing Alice was taken by the police last night. She didn't know what happened between Alice and Sandra, and in Sandra's video, her face was wrapped like a mummy.
Still asleep in the morning, Diana was jolted awake by loud knocking on the door.
Diana's mom, Brynn Elise, looked at her and said, "Why are you still sleeping? What happened to Alice last night? The police are downstairs now."
"The police are here?" Diana was startled, wondering if it was about Alice.
Both Diana and Brynn thought the police were there because of Alice.
When Diana went downstairs, the police asked if she knew someone named Yasmin.
Diana was taken aback, her expression changing noticeably.
"How would I know a waitress, sir? You must be mistaken." Diana shook her head repeatedly, trying to look innocent.
The female officer asked, "How do you know Yasmin is a waitress? I never mentioned that."
Diana's face showed obvious panic. 'I'm not even sure if the waitress's name is Yasmin. I just picked a random waitress and saw the name Yasmin on her name tag. I gave her a BVLGARI bracelet worth $37,000 as a gift. Although it isn't the latest model, it's a classic piece. She should have known its value. I never expected the police to come knocking today.'
Diana suddenly felt lost. She glanced at the police and then at Brynn.
Brynn said, "Sir, what's going on? My daughter has nothing to do with Alice. We don't know any Yasmin."
Brynn still thought it was about Alice.
