Chapter 1353 You Will Be the Only One to Regret
"Go ahead," Finnian said, heading to the living room. He opened the liquor cabinet, poured himself a glass of champagne, and plopped down on the couch. "Penelope, we've known each other for ages. You know, even when I'm with other women, you're always in my heart."
Penelope felt nothing but disgust as she listened to him.
She couldn't believe she had once been naive enough to give her heart to Finnian.
She had wandered for so long, missing out on someone who truly cared for her. When she met Finnian, she thought he was genuine. Looking at him now, she said, "From now on, we have nothing to do with each other. Whoever you want to be with, it's none of my business."
Finnian was taken aback. "Penelope, are you serious?"
Penelope sighed softly. "We're on different paths and can't work together."
Finnian stared at her. "Penelope, you'll regret this decision."
"No, I won't." Penelope looked straight into Finnian's eyes. She no longer saw the ambition and hard work that once defined him, only a man consumed by greed. "The only one who will regret this is you."
With that, she turned and walked away.
Finnian angrily smashed the glass he was holding. He had supported Penelope from the beginning, and now she dared to break ties with him.
But Penelope's strong stance left him with no options.
Besides, Penelope knew too much about him. If things got ugly, it wouldn't be good for either of them.
Finnian took a deep breath and pulled out his phone. "Cancel all of Penelope's endorsements and business deals!"
He could only sabotage her resources behind the scenes.
But Penelope's position in the entertainment industry was already stable; it wouldn't be easy to shake her.
"But the Kasimi endorsement is about to be announced. It's already set to be Penelope. Canceling now would be too abrupt, and the brand won't have time to find a new spokesperson."
"Give it to Electra. I'll talk to the brand."
"Got it."
The next day, Penelope received news that her endorsement had been replaced. She didn't care at all. It was just a few endorsements; she didn't rely on them to live. She had made enough money in the entertainment industry over the years and had some investments of her own.
That morning, Natalie wasn't around, so the focus was on Penelope's scenes and those of the two male leads.
The production had three director teams.
Penelope had one, and the other two male leads and supporting actors had another.
During a break, Penelope went to her trailer. Her executive agent approached her. "I heard Natalie is coming back."
Penelope was touching up her makeup. "Did they find Rachel?"
"No," the agent replied. "We should be careful. I have a bad feeling. From now on, let me know where you're going, and we'll stick together. It's such a shame about Rachel, disappearing like that. Who knows where those human trafficking rings have taken her... Penelope, you need to be careful too."
Penelope shrugged off the concern with a self-deprecating laugh. "Don't worry about me. I'm just waiting to see Finnian's downfall."
Natalie returned to Suncrest City on Saturday.
Beatrix didn't come along. Natalie had given her a few days off to rest.
