Chapter 1387 Rachel Awakens
As he entered the South District, he still hadn't realized what was coming.
Isaac sat up straight. "Let them in."
In the living room.
Isaac turned to the young man on his left. "You must be Adrian."
"Yeah," Adrian smiled. "Sorry for dropping by unannounced and empty-handed. Hope you don't mind, Mr. Roach."
Isaac smiled back. "The fact that Ruben's grandson is here is already a big deal. No need for apologies. So, what brings you here?"
Adrian explained his purpose.
Isaac raised an eyebrow. "Right, the Roach Family won't be working with the Bailey family anymore. If you can help me with this oil issue, the shipping business is yours."
"Deal," Adrian agreed.
Natalie watched Isaac, the master of the South District. He looked more like a scholar than a businessman.
Thinking about last night, Natalie asked, "How's Mrs. Roach? I saw her at the banquet but didn't get a chance to say hi before hearing she wasn't feeling well."
"Eve," Isaac didn't hold back. "She hasn't woken up yet."
Natalie said, "Mrs. Roach is blessed. She'll be okay."
"Elmer's been by Eve's side the whole time. Hopefully, she'll pull through. They've been married a month now. You've probably heard the rumors about Elmer's health. He's my only son, and I've always wanted him to take over. Ending cooperation with the Bailey family means they'll shift resources to the East District, aiming to monopolize and suppress the other three districts. If the Howard family can provide the same oil resources as the Baileys, I'll back your efforts all the way."
"Of course," Adrian and Isaac sealed the deal.
Their cooperation went smoothly.
Adrian suggested, "How about we play a little game?"
"What kind of game?" Isaac asked, intrigued.
Adrian squinted. "Let's keep our partnership under wraps, hike the prices, and draw them in."
By then, they'll have no way out, even if they want to.
Isaac nodded, impressed. No wonder he's Ruben's grandson.
That evening, Isaac invited Adrian and Natalie to stay for dinner. Adrian wanted to decline.
Their partnership couldn't be known by the East District yet.
Isaac shook his head. "Relax, in the South District, nothing gets past me." He looked confident and in control.
Adrian, still cautious, refused.
He and Natalie prepared to leave.
Suddenly, the phone rang. A servant answered it.
Excitedly, the servant announced, "Sir, it's Mr. Elmer Roach. Mrs. Eve Roach has woken up!"
Isaac stood up. "She's awake?"
He quickly walked over to take the call. "Elmer, how's Eve?"
Hearing that Eve had woken up, he let out a sigh of relief.
Natalie felt her heart skip a beat. She pressed her hand against it, not sure why, but hearing Eve was okay made her feel relieved.
At 5 PM, the two left the Roach Family estate.
Adrian had his people conduct a thorough search of the entire island, looking for Rachel.
