Chapter 1375 Encounter
Mila Bailey was floored.
The socialites nearby were just as shocked.
Cara's eyes went wide as she grabbed Rachel's hand. "Mrs. Roach..."
"How dare you!" Mila yelled, still in disbelief.
"Mila, the Bailey family isn't as untouchable as you think," Rachel said, already figuring out who the woman in front of her was—Donald Bailey's daughter, the oil tycoon. Just a Bailey family, turned down by the Howard Group for a partnership, yet still so bold.
Redwood Isle needed oil and had to work with the Bailey family, which was the only reason they put up with them.
Mila was about to lose it.
Cara stepped in front of Rachel.
"Mrs. Roach, this isn't your fight. You should go find Mr. Roach," she said, worried Mila might get physical with Rachel.
But Rachel wasn't scared. "One glass of wine isn't enough? How about another?" she said, picking up another glass.
Mila clenched her teeth. "I don't care who you are. Just you wait, I won't let this slide!"
On the other side, Kamille noticed the commotion and walked over, holding up her gown. "What's going on here?"
Kamille looked at Rachel. "Mrs. Roach, it's our first meeting. I'm sure we'll have many more chances to meet. I'm glad you and Elmer could make it to my birthday party tonight."
Rachel adjusted the white fox mask on her face and bowed slightly.
She knew Kamille hadn't recognized her yet.
But with so many people around, Rachel couldn't take off her mask and explain.
Kamille looked at Mila, knowing her temper, and then glanced at Cara's gown. The strap had snapped, and she was holding her chest with one hand, red wine stains on her pink dress.
Kamille knew Mila had started it. No matter what grudges they had, they couldn't fight at her birthday party. She looked at Mila. "Mila, your dress is dirty. Go change."
Seeing Kamille had arrived, Mila had no choice but to back down.
She shot Rachel a look. "Just you wait!"
"Anytime," Rachel said, taking a sip of wine, savoring its rich, sweet flavor. She watched Mila storm off with her friends to a nearby lounge. Turning to the woman in the pink dress, she said, "You should change your dress."
"Thank you, Mrs. Roach," Cara said, her dress stained with red wine.
She did need to change.
Kamille noticed and said, "Cara, go to the lounge. I'll have my assistant bring you a dress."
Kamille looked at Rachel. "You seem familiar, but I can't place where we've met. What's your name, and how do you know Elmer?"
Rachel clenched her fists, her throat tight. "I, I am..."
At that moment, Kamille suddenly spoke to someone behind Rachel. "Natalie, you're here."
Rachel's back stiffened.
Natalie?
Natalie was here.
She turned to see a woman in a dazzling gown and a white angel mask, embracing Kamille.
Rachel hadn't expected Natalie to be here, and so close.
As Kamille led Natalie to the lounge area, Rachel was about to greet her when someone bumped into her waist.
A bottle of red wine spilled onto her dress.
