Chapter 436 A Passionate Person? Concession?
The photographer smirked, "I'll snap the pic, but do you have the guts to post it?"
Chris shot a look at his buddy, "Oh, Alex, you've gotten cheeky, huh?"
Natalie giggled softly from the side.
Chris, rocking his shades, stretched out his arm, not touching Natalie but flashing a 'V' sign behind her.
Natalie said, "Thanks, Chris, for looking out for me lately."
Chris just stared at her, silent. Natalie knew him well enough not to expect any sweet talk. But during the shoot, Chris hadn't given her a hard time.
Natalie thought Chris was a pro director. He could spot her flaws in a heartbeat. She'd spent an hour perfecting Luna's gentle smile in the mirror, but Chris nailed the issue with one glance at the monitor.
Natalie nodded at Chris. Someone called her for a group shot, and she turned to join them.
Chris asked, "Natalie, got your next gig lined up?"
Natalie replied, "Not yet."
Chris said, "Think about why, despite being a total catch—hardworking, stunning, and on point—you're not getting the love at Dynamic Entertainment Media."."
Natalie was all ears.
Chris looked at her calm yet stunning face. The afternoon sun was blazing, her cheeks were clear and fair, with a thin sheen of sweat on her forehead, and her sincere eyes locked on him.
This was it!
When the camera rolled, she was in character instantly.
But off-camera, she'd sit alone reading a script or book, while other actresses schmoozed with directors and producers. She'd be there, lost in her book or script, almost invisible.
With such a beautiful face, she just faded into the background, totally different from when she was acting.
At Dynamic Entertainment Media, she probably did whatever her agent told her without a fuss, taking any role handed to her without a peep.
Chris was about to say something when Yvonne walked over. "Natalie, your phone's ringing."
Natalie gave Chris an apologetic look and grabbed her phone. Chris glanced at it and saw a note that seemed to say 'Mr.' He asked, "Boyfriend?"
Natalie looked apologetically at Chris. "Chris, I need to take this call."
"Natalie, you're still young and new. Focus on your career, not dating." Chris suddenly felt a bit frustrated. With such a beautiful face, even if she didn't hustle, this movie could still win her fans. But he didn't expect Natalie to be more into her love life.
The phone buzzed like crazy in Natalie's hand.
Natalie said, "I know, but Chris, you go ahead. I need to take this call."
She couldn't hang up on Adrian!
Walking to the side, Natalie answered the call.
On the other end, Adrian said, "Happy wrap!"
Natalie replied, "I was just taking photos."
Adrian asked, "Got plans tonight?"
Natalie replied, "Might have dinner with the director and crew."
"You're ditching me for dinner with the director?" Adrian's voice was flat, and Natalie couldn't read his mood.
"Basically, yes, but Mr. Howard comes first." Natalie knew how to sweet-talk.
Adrian liked that. "What time?"
Natalie was confused. "What?"
Adrian clarified, "What time will you be done with dinner?"
Natalie said, "10 o'clock."
Adrian said, "Alright, after 10 then."
Natalie felt a bit stunned. She hadn't expected him to bend for her.
