Chapter 332 Hated Being Deceived
Tonight, no customers got handsy like Natalie and Denise worried about, but there were more out-of-town businessmen on the second floor.
At the Imperial Nightclub, the higher the floor, the richer and more prestigious the customers. The first and second floors were usually for walk-ins and out-of-town businessmen.
Sometimes, customers flirted with the waitresses, but it was hard to handle. They'd just say, "I didn't touch you, why are you being so dramatic? A little touch won't hurt you." The waitresses usually just endured it to keep their jobs.
Tonight, Natalie and Denise were in private room 203, serving demanding walk-in customers. One customer drank too much, and Denise helped him to the restroom outside, leaving Natalie alone in the room.
She was pouring wine when a man in his thirties, Alvin Weaver, said, "When did the Imperial Nightclub get such a beautiful waitress?" He only flirted verbally and didn't get handsy.
Another man with a foreign accent laughed and said, "It's a waste for you to be a waitress here. Follow Mr. Weaver, and you'll get an LV bag every month, hahaha."
The men laughed, and Natalie didn't respond. After filling the glasses, she stepped aside.
Their conversation shifted back to business.
One man said, "Mr. Weaver, I heard the Newman Group is going to collaborate with the Snow Group, injecting two billion dollars to keep them running. This has offended the Howard Group. Adrian is not someone to mess with. By funding the Snow Group now, the Newman Group is directly challenging the Howard Group."
Hearing Adrian's name, Natalie listened more closely.
Alvin pondered and said, "No matter how powerful the Newman Group is, they can't compare to the Howard Group in Vachilit. If they dare to challenge the Howard Group head-on, there might be stronger capital backing them."
"I heard Donte from the Howard family is back. The Howard family is quite a mess. Mr. Weaver, even an outsider like me knows about the Howard family's past. But the Howard Group's takeover of the Snow Group is already a done deal. Suddenly, the Newman Group wants to help the Snow Group. I can't figure out what the Newman Group stands to gain. Offending Adrian will get the Newman Group thoroughly suppressed in Vachilit."
Alvin took a sip of his drink. "Indeed. The Howard family is still under Adrian's control. Once Adrian takes over the Snow Group, the vast family fortune will be Adrian's alone when Ruben dies.Of course, the other Howard family members who have a chance to inherit are the most anxious. If I were Donte, I'd definitely help the Newman Group."
Another man said, "Mr. Weaver, you're right, but Donte is still Adrian's brother. Family ties often dissolve in the face of power."
Natalie leaned against the wall, listening to their conversation.
She suddenly remembered the first time she met Adrian.It was in a hotel, and obviousy, Adrian had been drugged.
