Natalie stepped outside to greet Kamille.
Kamille, strutting in six-inch heels, took off her sunglasses and glanced around the shabby alleyway. She looked up at the sign that read "Thread & Theory." "Natalie, this is the designer from last night, right?"
Natalie nodded. "Yeah, let me introduce you. This is Matilda, the head designer at Thread & Theory. The dress from last night was her creation."
Kamille gave Matilda a once-over, noting her azure cotton-linen dress. The store was warm and cozy. Her gaze lingered on Matilda's face, momentarily stunned. The right side of Matilda's face was flawless, breathtakingly beautiful. But the left side...
A scar.
It shattered the perfection.
It was surprising and a bit of a shame.
But Kamille was here for the clothes, not personal stories.
Her eyes immediately caught the moonlit rose dress hanging on the rack.
She hurried over. "Do you have it in my size?"
Matilda replied, "The dress is one-size-fits-all, suitable for anyone around 100 pounds. There are clips at the back to adjust if it's too big."
Kamille took the dress to the fitting room. When she emerged, she admired herself in the mirror, her eyes sparkling with delight. The dress fit her perfectly, accentuating her stunning figure. The rose details on the hem were exquisite, something only someone of her stature could pull off.
Matilda approached with a pearl necklace.
This necklace was different, handcrafted with a delicate embroidered rose. She placed it around Kamille's neck, enhancing her neckline.
Kamille looked at Matilda. "Name your price. I'll take it."
Matilda knew the woman before her was someone of high status, someone even Natalie had to respect. She said, "This dress has very specific requirements: a high bust, a slim waist, and a tall frame. Many have admired it, but only you can wear it perfectly. It belongs to you. Consider it a gift."
"From now on, I'll have my clothes custom-made here," Kamille said, her smile indicating her satisfaction. "Thread & Theory, I like this brand."
Natalie chimed in, "I'm glad you like it, Miss Cross. This is a new brand I'm launching. I hope you'll attend the grand opening."
Kamille's eyes widened in surprise. "Your brand?"
Natalie nodded.
Kamille said, "In that case, I'll definitely be there. If you need anything, just contact me. I'm willing to be an unofficial ambassador for this brand. With good designs, it won't be long before it becomes a hit. My instincts are never wrong. Natalie, I underestimated you."
Kamille wasn't naive. She knew U&M had chosen Wendy as their spokesperson, causing a rift between Rebecca and Natalie. Rebecca had made a mistake by antagonizing Natalie. Now, Rebecca had a formidable competitor.
Natalie was indeed clever.
