Chapter 614 Arrangements

Heather strolled in, "I'm here to chat with Yancy about work stuff."

Julian gave her a look and remained a pregnant silence as if to say, 'Say no more. I get it.'

"Cool, I'm outta here. Won't butt in on your work talk with Yancy. Have a good one," he said, humming a little tune as he bounced out.

Heather nudged the door open and stepped into the hospital room. Yancy was propped up in bed, a laptop on a small table in front of him. He was rocking a light blue hospital gown, looking paler than a ghost, lips all colorless, hair a bit of a mess, but his cheeks had a slight flush, and he seemed pretty chipper.

Yancy glanced at Heather. "Burning the midnight oil, huh?"

He must've caught some of her convo with Julian outside about work.

Heather handed him a memory card from her camera. "It's got a password."

Yancy shifted a bit, wincing as he tried to sit up straighter, clearly tugging at his abdominal wound. Heather quickly helped him with a pillow. "You good? Need a break?"

"Let's just get this done," Yancy said, sliding the memory card into the laptop. Cracking the password wouldn't take long.

"This is a double 8-digit password. Whose camera is this?" Yancy asked.

Heather replied, "A journalist's. Caught her snapping pics of my boss. Snagged it and recorded some vids. We need it for tomorrow."

Yancy chuckled, "You're really ride-or-die for your boss. First time you hit up Blue Bar, it was to dig up dirt on Frank. Now you're cracking passwords for her."

Heather shrugged, "She's got my back, so I got hers."

She added, "And you've been good to me, too, so I'll have your back in the future."

Yancy bit his lip slightly, staring into Heather's eyes. He really dug her eyes; they were stunning.

Ten minutes later, Yancy said, "All done."

Heather's eyebrows shot up. "That quick?"

Yancy smirked, "Never doubt my skills."

Heather grinned, "Thanks."

Yancy leaned back. "How you gonna thank me?"

Heather shot him a look. "Seriously? You just got stabbed, and you're thinking about that? Yancy, don't you care about your life?"

Yancy's pale face broke into a grin. "Did I say anything? You're overthinking, Heather."

Heather blushed. "Not gonna argue with you. I'm heading back."

Yancy sighed, "Stay here. It's too late to head back now; it's not safe."

Heather checked the time; it was already midnight. She looked at Yancy. "Fine, I'll crash on the couch. Gotta work on editing the video anyway."

"Cool," Yancy mumbled, closing his eyes to rest.

Heather quietly moved to the couch. This VIP room was swanky, like a mini hotel. There was a rose-scented incense burning on the table and some snacks, probably courtesy of Julian.

She opened her laptop and got to work on the video.

Heather needed to make sure the video flowed smoothly, so she had to cut out some of her chats with Alice and the nanny's appearances.

Once the video was polished, Heather saved it and called the team's ops staff to schedule tomorrow's trending news. "Oh, and hype up Alice a bit to boost her popularity," she added.

"Got it," the staff replied.
