Chapter 815 Unexpected Situation
Natalie gave Melody a big hug. "Melody, it's been forever!"
"You little rascal, you haven't showed up in person for ages. I thought you'd forgotten all about me now that you're a big shot. But I know you're just swamped with all your shoots. I saw your cosmetics ad at the mall the other day. It looked amazing. Come on in, don't just stand there." Melody pulled Natalie inside.
Natalie looked around the office. "Wow, this place is way nicer than your old one. And that desk is huge!"
Melody grinned. "Well, I'm a vice president now. What do you want to drink? I'll whip something up."
"Anything's good," Natalie said.
"Alright, coffee it is. This brand is my favorite—so rich and tasty." Melody made a latte and handed it to Natalie. "So, it's Christmas. Aren't you filming? Or is the crew on break?"
Natalie replied, "I wanted a break, so I'll join the crew after Christmas. I saw the Imperial Nightclub was open when I passed by, so I thought I'd drop in. Didn't they used to take an eight-day break?"
Melody laughed. "The more we work, the more we earn. Plus, I don't have many people at home. It's just a bit lonely during the holidays."
"Merry Christmas, Melody," Natalie said jauntily.
"Merry Christmas."
Natalie had always been curious about something. "Melody, since you're a vice president now, have you met the boss?"
Melody nodded. "Yeah, once. Didn't get a good look at his face, though. He's super mysterious but has done an amazing job with Imperial Nightclub."
Melody thought for a moment. "He's really young. Whenever there's an important notice, his secretary contacts me and the other VP."
Natalie hung out in Melody's office for about 40 minutes before she had to leave. She said goodbye and headed home.
Just then, Adrian called.
"Did you get the gift?" he asked.
Natalie's eyes welled up with joy. "I did, and I love it. But it's too much. You didn't have to get me something so expensive."
Adrian replied, "As long as you like it. I love that estate too. Maybe one day we can live there. It's beautiful and full of memories."
Natalie smiled. "Are you busy right now?"
She really wanted to see Adrian, hug him, and tell him how much she loved the estate—and him. She wanted to promise she'd work hard to be worthy of him.
"Not too busy. I should have some time later," Adrian said.
"Then, see you tonight."
"Okay." Adrian was on a small balcony on the second floor, with relatives and friends milling around. It was the day after Christmas, but people were still visiting the Howard family.
Suddenly, a voice shouted from downstairs, "Is there a doctor? Ms. Cullen just fainted!"
There was a rush of footsteps.
Adrian frowned.
On the other end of the phone, Natalie asked, "What's going on?"
