Chapter 1104 Misunderstanding
'Even with amnesia, Adrian will remember me eventually,' Natalie thought.
Claire asked, "When's he gonna get his memory back? Does he have to wait for the surgery?"
"Not necessarily," the doctor replied. "We haven't pinpointed the exact cause of this shadowed area. We didn't find it during the surgery. Here are the two CT reports; you can see the difference. But the amnesia is temporary; he might recover in a few days."
Claire tried to comfort Natalie. "Adrian's amnesia is just temporary. Don't be sad. It's a miracle he woke up at all. You heard the doctor; it's just temporary. Hang in there."
"I don't feel wronged, as long as Adrian is healthy," Natalie said, walking out of the doctor's office with a smile.
All she wanted was for Adrian to be safe and sound.
Since Adrian fell into a coma, Ruben hadn't been himself. He was exhausted, so Melissa took him home.
Natalie headed back to the ward. Before opening the door, she peeked through the gap.
Adrian was lying on the bed, getting an IV, while Andrea sat beside him, saying something that made him smile.
Natalie pursed her lips slightly, then gently knocked and walked in.
Andrea looked at Natalie with a pitiful and weak expression, like she expected to be blamed.
"Natalie, you're back. I saw you all went to the doctor's office, so I thought Adrian might be bored alone. I stayed to keep him company."
Before Natalie could say anything, Adrian spoke up. "I asked Andrea to stay. I heard you're a celebrity, so you must be busy. I've been in a coma for two months; you must have missed a lot of work. Go ahead and take care of your stuff."
Adrian's voice was familiar but felt a bit off to Natalie.
It was still the same voice she could recognize with her eyes closed, but the words had Adrian's usual coldness.
Natalie didn't respond right away. She looked at the face she had longed for day and night.
Adrian had lost a lot of weight, his jawline sharper. He was wearing a light blue hospital gown, leaning against the headboard, still giving off a cold vibe.
His short hair had grown a bit, slightly covering his eyebrows, but those eyes looking at her no longer held the warmth and affection they once did.
Natalie took a deep breath.
Just as she was about to speak, Andrea said, "Natalie, am I bothering you and Adrian by being here? I'll leave now. Don't be mad."
After saying that, Andrea softly looked at Adrian. "Adrian, I'll come back to see you later."
She stood up and looked at Natalie with an apologetic expression, like she was afraid Natalie would be angry, but Adrian saw all of this.
Natalie bitterly smiled inwardly, 'This Andrea, just like Rachel said, is two-faced. I didn't say anything, yet Andrea has already painted me as someone who gets angry easily.'
Now that Adrian had lost his memory, he probably misunderstood her too, thinking she was a bad-tempered person.
Moreover, Adrian had always felt deeply guilty towards Andrea.
