Chapter 677 Lifting the Permanent Ban
The cops shoved Zoey outta the way as they hoisted Landon onto the stretcher, blood pouring from his wound. Zoey watched them haul him off, stumbling after them, barely keeping her balance.
Downstairs, the ambulance sped off.
Zoey crumpled to the ground. She stared at the blood on her hands and started bawling.
Unlike her rooftop performance, where she was all numb and holding it in, no tears, just pain, now she was totally losing it, sobbing her heart out.
Natalie's acting shift made Oscar, who was watching from the monitor, super stoked. He yelled, "Cut!"
"Natalie, that was killer, absolutely killer!" Oscar's face lit up with excitement, not holding back his praise. When Natalie messed up, Oscar would chew her out and guide her, but when she nailed it, he’d shout his approval.
Today, Oscar straight-up said, "Casting you as the lead was the best call I've ever made! You were phenomenal!"
Natalie's acting chops, expressions, and looks were a perfect match for Zoey. Natalie was Zoey.
Oscar walked over and hugged Natalie. "That was amazing, really amazing. I believe you’re gonna be the best actress out there! You just start sailing."
Natalie didn’t expect Oscar to be so hyped. She was still a bit taken aback by the hug. "Thanks, Oscar."
At that moment, Natalie hadn’t fully shaken off Zoey’s character. Even her tone was still Zoey’s.
The morning shoot wrapped up, and Natalie headed to the trailer.
There were five scenes to shoot in the afternoon. Even though Natalie knew the lines inside out, she kept going over them.
Oscar's appreciation, Natalie was over the moon Hearing
Heather was also stoked because Natalie’s hard work was definitely paying off.
The movie was set to drop on May 1st next year. Even though there was still a month of shooting left, editing was already in the works, and since there were no special effects, post-production wouldn’t take long. Once shooting wrapped up in a month, the rough cut should be ready, and the release date would be locked in.
Heather said, "Natalie, I just heard from the Summer Time crew that the movie’s dropping on the 2nd of next month. Your current film wraps on the 26th of this month, so you can still make it to a promo event."
Summer Time was Esme’s coming-of-age flick. After a bunch of name changes, it finally got titled Summer Time because everyone’s got their own unforgettable summer.
The lead actress was Samantha.
But Samantha had been semi-permanently banned by Dynamic Entertainment Media.
Natalie glanced at the script and casually asked, "How’s Samantha doing now?"
Heather replied, "When Samantha first got permanently banned by Dynamic Entertainment Media, she was live-streaming everywhere. But Esme’s team shut it down, saying they didn’t need an internet celeb as the lead. They warned that if Samantha kept promoting products and popping up on several live-streaming platforms, her scenes would get cut, and they’d cast a new lead. Samantha didn’t dare to keep going because she was banking on Summer Time to revive her career. If the movie did well at the box office, even though she was permanently banned by Dynamic Entertainment Media, she could still snag some gigs outside. If someone took a liking to her, they might even be willing to pay a hefty fee to break her contract."
