Chapter 742 Show the Evidence
Alice replied, "I was shooting at this hotel, and we just bumped into each other. Then, you carried me back to the room."
Alice was doing her thing in Rosewood City and had snagged the fanciest suite in a five-star hotel.
That night, she did run into Adrian.
Adrian was being helped by an assistant who didn't recognize Alice. When Alice walked over, Adrian shoved her away.
Alice, gritting her teeth, said she was Natalie. Only then did Adrian hold her.
Alice and Natalie looked pretty similar, and Adrian was wasted, so he couldn't tell the difference.
But once they got to the room, Adrian called out Natalie's name and then passed out.
In the living room.
Claire looked at Adrian. "Adrian, how can you say that? Maybe you were just too drunk to remember."
Emmett jumped in, "Yeah, Alice helped you to the room. Alice even has a photo."
Alice nodded like crazy. "Yeah, it's on my phone." She whipped out her phone and showed a photo of Adrian, drunk on the bed, with Alice taking a selfie next to him.
Just in case Adrian didn't buy it, Alice kept this little piece of evidence.
Seeing the photo, Claire felt a wave of relief.
Adrian had said the lost kid wasn't his, which had Claire worried for ages. But now, seeing the photo, Claire smiled. "Alice, you need to take care of yourself. How about moving to the Howard Mansion? I'll feel better seeing you every day."
Alice couldn't have asked for more. Moving to the Howard Mansion could bring her closer to Adrian.
But Alice was still hesitant to ditch her career in showbiz. She was just getting started, and seeing Natalie rise, how could Alice just give up?
But all of this was nothing compared to becoming the Howard family's hostess.
"I should ask my mom first," Alice said, pretending to be shy.
Of course Emmett immediately nodded at Curtis, and they both agreed.
Even though they agreed and Claire was thrilled, Ruben's approval was still needed.
Ruben had been quiet. He glanced at Adrian. Since Alice was pregnant, if the kid was Adrian's, they had to take care of her to avoid any past mishaps. Ruben also wanted a great-grandchild.
But Adrian had made it clear he didn't like Alice.
"Adrian, since Alice is pregnant, let her move in the room next to yours. It'll be more convenient," Ruben said after thinking for a few minutes. He ultimately agreed for the kid's sake.
Adrian crossed his legs, his black suit pants perfectly pressed, not a wrinkle even while sitting. His gaze was cold and merciless as it swept over Alice, Emmett, and Curtis, finally landing on Alice's phone on the table. The screen showed a picture of Adrian lying drunk on the bed, with Alice taking a selfie next to him.
Even though Adrian was drunk, he was sure he hadn't touched Alice that night.
Alice felt panicked under Adrian's gaze. 'This kid is Carlos's, but the timing is close enough that it shouldn't be discovered, right?'
