Chapter 609 Threat
Behind Rose, a young woman was yanking on her sleeve, trying to get her to chill out.
Rose snapped, "Natalie, I get it. You're a big deal, and I'm just a media grunt. But your bodyguard swiped my camera. Hand it back now, or this is gonna be all over the news!"
Natalie, rocking sunglasses and no makeup, still looked like a million bucks. Her lips were bare, but she had that star power. Even through the shades, her stare made Rose a bit jittery.
Natalie smirked and said to Heather, "Did you catch that? This reporter's got some nerve, threatening me with headlines."
Heather held up a brooch, which was actually a tiny camera.
Rose's face went white. If her boss found out she threatened Natalie and dragged the magazine into it, she'd be toast.
She didn't expect Heather to have a hidden camera and record everything.
Even though Rose was freaked out, she still shot back, "So what if you got a video? You took my camera, that's my stuff. This is straight-up theft. I'm calling the cops. With what your bodyguard did, that's gonna make a killer headline!"
Natalie glanced over at Alice, who was chilling on a chair nearby. Alice had spotted Natalie early on and was loving the drama between Natalie and the reporters. It was Alice who had Diana tip off the press.
Rosalie was in bad shape, but Natalie didn't show up in the hospital. Meanwhile, Alice, pretending to be Natalie's friend, visited Rosalie, a move that would definitely sway public opinion her way.
Alice got up and strolled over. "Natalie, you're here. I saw Rosalie earlier. She wasn't doing well, so I took her to the hospital. The doc said it's pretty serious. Don't be too upset."
Natalie looked at Alice's fake concern and felt like puking.
Natalie asked Heather, "Which paper is this reporter from?"
Heather had already done her homework and replied, "Orange Daily."
Natalie turned to Derek, "Get in touch with the editor-in-chief of Orange Daily and demand a public apology. This reporter violated my privacy. If they don't apologize, they can kiss their paper goodbye."
Derek nodded. "Got it."
Rose's face went even paler. "What did you just say?"
But she still stood her ground, "Who do you think you are? I'm not apologizing. Orange Daily isn't some small-time rag. Mess with us, and your scandals will be everywhere."
Natalie heard Rose's threat and just gave a small smile, saying softly, "Alright, let's see about that."
Natalie glanced at a younger reporter behind Rose, probably an intern. She looked scared out of her mind. With just a look from Natalie, the intern blurted out, "I'm sorry. I just wanted a big story. I didn't mean to cause trouble. I'm really sorry."
Natalie asked, "Who sent you? How did you know Rosalie was in the operating room?"
