Natalie was scrubbing the floor when she caught the sweet, mushy voices of Leander and Alice from upstairs. Alice was always so gutsy; as long as the folks were out, she'd sneak her classmates over without a care in the world.
Back then, Leander was Alice's boyfriend.
Natalie said, "When I was in high school, Leander and Alice were a thing. The Winthrop family always looked down on the Cullen family 'cause their business was small-time, and they even had a big fallout with Avery. Now, Avery can't even face Mrs. Winthrop."
"So that's the deal. Alice seems so innocent, but how could she be so..." Heather had a word stuck in her throat that was too crude to say out loud.
Heather asked, "Isn't she scared of getting busted by Mr. and Mrs. Cullen?"
Natalie replied, "Alice is sneaky. When I was in high school, I caught her twice bringing Leander and her bestie home. Her bestie was her cover actually. When they were upstairs, the servants weren't allowed up, not even the housekeeper, Renee. I accidentally caught them once."
"How could Mr. Howard let someone like her be his fiancée? I don't get it," Heather muttered under her breath.
Natalie was munching on spaghetti and paused.
After finishing her spaghetti, she smiled faintly. "Because..."
Just as she started to speak, Natalie seemed to think of something and then smiled helplessly.
Natalie shook her head and sighed. "Heather, tomorrow, find me a hacker. Make sure the IP can't be traced. Send the remaining uncensored photos to Alice's email account."
Heather nodded. "Okay."
Mindy was tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep at 11 PM.
She had returned a call to Heather earlier, but now she felt something was off.
She couldn't quite put her finger on it.
Getting up, Mindy took out her phone and called Yvonne, asking, "Yvonne, when you called me tonight, was there anyone around?"
Yvonne had already been asleep and was groggy when Mindy woke her with the call. She tried to recall; she had been in the restroom at the time and wasn't sure if anyone was in the stalls. She just wanted to report to Mindy as soon as possible to earn some credit.
Now, fully awake by Mindy's question, she was scared of being reprimanded and quickly said, "No one was there. I was in the lounge, and it was empty, just me."
Mindy let out a long breath. "That's good."
On the other end, Yvonne also let out a sigh of relief.
Mindy instructed, "Keep a close eye on Natalie's every move and report any developments to me immediately."
After hanging up, Mindy felt she might have been overthinking.
She really didn't dare to offend Natalie.
Natalie had Adrian backing her.
Even though Natalie was just Adrian's mistress, Adrian treated her very well.
If Natalie found out that Yvonne was planted by Mindy to spy on her, Mindy feared it would create a rift between them.
But Mindy also looked down on Natalie.
A woman who climbed up by relying on a sugar daddy wasn't worth her respect.
