Chapter 686 Not Suitable
Natalie shut her eyes for a bit, catching some rest. She swapped her clothes and strolled out, spotting Adrian chilling in the living room, glued to a movie. It was one of Victoria's old flicks, one Natalie had seen before. The plot was all about the main characters lifting each other up, being each other's first love, going through ups and downs, breaking up, and making up—a solid romantic drama.
Hearing some noise, Adrian glanced up. "You're awake?"
Natalie replied, "Just a quick break."
Adrian smirked, "Tired already? Your stamina's weak. You should hit the gym more."
Natalie walked over, and Adrian pulled her onto his lap, wrapping an arm around her waist.
Natalie squirmed a bit, and Adrian warned, "Keep moving, and I can't promise I'll behave." Did she even realize how much he missed her after two months apart? Her scent gave a jolt to his heart.
"Why are you watching this old movie? It's like two years old." Natalie stopped fidgeting and leaned into him.
Adrian said, "Victoria's got skills. It's all shot on location. Her cinematographer, Clarence, is a pro with long takes and scenery shots. They've been a team for a decade, a perfect match."
Natalie realized she hadn't thought about it that deeply last time she watched the movie..
She was surprised Adrian knew so much. "You even know about the entertainment biz."
"I've picked up a lot over time." Adrian ran the Howard Group, which had a bunch of subsidiaries, including Dynamic Entertainment.
Dynamic Entertainment had switched presidents twice. The current one, Lucas, had got promoted to VP and then made the company a cool nine hundred million, earning the top spot. Lucas also brought Herman on board.
Natalie didn't expect Adrian to be so clued in despite his busy schedule. She thought he just coasted through.
Seeing her wide-eyed look, Adrian chuckled and pinched her nose. "You think I just sit around, sign papers, hold meetings, and listen to plans?"
Natalie blushed. "I didn't think you'd know so much about the subsidiaries."
The Howard Group was massive, covering dining, real estate, film, tourism, cosmetics, jewelry, clothing, and more.
Their top jewelry brand, LT, was a big name. Wendy was the face of it.
Thinking of Wendy, Natalie remembered Adrian and Wendy were childhood buddies.
Adrian asked, "Got your next movie lined up? When does Victoria's new film start shooting?"
Natalie's eyelashes fluttered at his question.
Did Adrian not know she got cut from the role? The lead in One Day was Alice, and it was already filming, making headlines.
But Adrian probably didn't keep up with entertainment news.
Natalie said, "My next movie isn't One Day."
Adrian frowned a bit.
Natalie turned away, focusing on the movie. "I don't think I'm right for that role."
