Why moved her to the hallway?
She clung to the nurse, refusing to let go. "Why is she in the hallway? Didn't we pay the medical bills?"
Didn't the Cullen family promise her that as long as she played the part of "Alice," they'd ensure Rosalie got the best treatment?
The nurse replied, "I'm not sure. It seems a relative of hers handled it just now. By the way, are you her family? You need to pay for this week's infusion."
Relative? Rosalie and she only had each other. The only other person here was Avery.
Natalie clenched her fists and went to pay for the infusion. But when she saw the medication list, she felt a surge of anger.
These weren't the special imported drugs. Avery had lied to her!
She paid for Rosalie's hospital stay again, instructing the nurse to move Rosalie to a double room and to use the best medications.
She'd charge it all to the Cullen family. Standing at the end of the hallway, she watched from afar, making sure Rosalie was settled in the room before she felt at ease. But tears still streamed down her face.
In the room, Rosalie felt uneasy. It was a double room, but the other bed was empty. She was the only one there.
Her previous room was an eight-bed ward and quite expensive. How much would this double room cost?
She said, "I can't afford this. The hallway was fine."
"A Ms. Cullen has already paid for your stay. You can relax," the nurse replied.
"Ms. Cullen?" Rosalie's face lit up, and her eyes, usually dull from illness, sparkled. "Was it the lady in the white dress with the gray shawl?"
The nurse nodded in agreement. "Yes, so don't worry."
It was Alice.
Rosalie knew that despite Alice's tantrums, she was kind-hearted. The Cullen family had raised her well.
When she thought of Alice, her eyes grew complicated. For a moment, those sickly eyes seemed to hide some unspeakable secret.
After seeing Claire, Adrian got busy and didn't look for Alice for several days, giving Natalie a break.
One day after school, Bella dragged her to Vachilit's annual high-end jewelry exhibition, where all the top figures in the business world were present.
Natalie didn't expect she would get separated from Bella after just a short time in the pearl section.
After texting Bella, Natalie suddenly heard a compliment.
Startled, she turned instinctively and saw Adrian surrounded by admirers not far away.
Almost instinctively, Natalie took out her phone and snapped a picture of the distinguished man.
Meanwhile, Adrian, who had been viewing the exhibition, sensed something and looked in a certain direction, only to catch a glimpse of a familiar woman's back.
