Chapter 998 Wrapping Up Filming, Returning to Vachilit
Donny downed three glasses of wine and then took his seat.
Matthew leaned in and whispered to Natalie, "That guy with the gray hair? That's Donny Dickson, president of Epicurean Eats Enterprises."
Natalie raised an eyebrow, thinking, 'Donny? Could this be the same Donny Lauchelle mentioned? Or just a coincidence?'
The banquet wrapped up around 11 PM.
A few investors were pretty tipsy.
Matthew arranged for designated drivers.
Natalie didn't drink much.
Donny stumbled to his feet, and Natalie, who was nearby, instinctively steadied him. Donny chuckled, "So, Lauchelle has a goddaughter, and it's you."
Natalie just gave a slight nod. "Thanks for investing in my new movie."
Donny grinned, "If I'd known it was you, I would've thrown in an extra $20 million. I mean, you're the lead actress who pulled in $3 billion at the box office. This movie's gonna be a hit, and I'll be counting on you to make me more money."
Natalie thought Lauchelle's godson would be mature and steady like Milan, not expecting someone so unruly as she glanced at Donny's gray hair.
"This is our first meeting, Natalie, and I didn't bring anything special. Next time, I'll make it up to you." Donny's assistant pulled up with the car, and Donny got in.
Matthew saw off the other investors and walked over, "Do you know Mr. Dickson?"
Matthew had noticed the interaction between Donny and Natalie.
This Donny was the son-in-law of the chairman of Epicurean Eats Enterprises.
Natalie said, "A relative of mine knows him."
Matthew said, "Donny might look young, but he's not easy to deal with. He invested in my movie because I have some connections with Epicurean Eats Enterprises. He married Mabel Simpson, the chairman's daughter, a year ago and took over the company. But I've heard he and Mabel both have someone else in their hearts and they're not happy together."
Matthew wasn't one to gossip, but he warned Natalie, "Donny's the biggest investor here but also the hardest to please. If you don't need to, avoid him after this movie. He's got several mistresses."
Matthew was worried Donny might take a liking to Natalie and cause trouble for her.
Natalie whispered, "He won't. He's my godbrother."
But she didn't expect Lauchelle to value Donny so much, and even Milan praised him highly. He turned out to be such a different person from what she imagined.
The Donny she pictured should be Lauchelle's right-hand man, decisive, rational, intelligent, and responsible.
Matthew's eyes widened. "Godbrother?"
Natalie put her arm around Matthew's shoulder. "Don't worry about me. Even though he's my godbrother, we didn't know each other before."
Matthew looked at Natalie, already guessing that someone as outstanding as Natalie was definitely not an ordinary person.
On Wednesday, the filming of Yesterday's Mist wrapped up.
Many actors asked Natalie to take photos with them, and she agreed with a smile.
