Chapter 1294 Reduced Screen Time
"Xyla, do you know Rhett's phone number? Tell me."
Since Derek's location couldn't be tracked, they decided to try someone else.
Callum searched the number Xyla provided and had the tech team try to locate it.
He was a senior hacker at the Howard Group, and there was nothing he couldn't find online.
"Got it, but it shows that two days ago, this number was in Solstice, White Dove District."
Xyla's eyes widened. "Two days ago, that was the night he was taken."
Callum said, "White Dove District is one of the three major industrial areas in Solstice. It's a suburban industrial zone with various chemical research parks. However, it's quite large, so it will take some time to search. Of course, we'll do it as quickly as possible."
Hearing that there would be news, Xyla breathed a sigh of relief. "That's great, we can find Rhett."
But Natalie didn't relax.
Xyla then provided many details about the ship. She asked Callum to find a place for Xyla to rest and to assign someone to protect her.
Later, Adrian called her.
He said he had asked Quincy, and Quincy didn't hide anything. He mentioned some things, but Quincy also didn't know where the people who were taken were being held.
Adrian said, "You can give Quincy a call. Although he seems a bit difficult to get along with, Quincy is actually quite easygoing."
"Okay."
Adrian sent her the number.
Natalie was about to call Quincy when Beatrix called out to her, saying Anouk had arrived at the villa.
Natalie put down her phone and went to the living room.
Anouk was holding a few cups of coffee. "I also ordered some takeout; it should be here soon." She looked around. "This place is really nice, surrounded by mountains and water, a standalone villa. It's much more comfortable than staying in a hotel."
Rachel, who was nearby, said, "If you like it, you can stay here too. There are plenty of empty rooms, and it's lively with more people. We have card games every night. Now that you're here, we can get Natalie to join us for poker."
Rachel pulled Natalie to the card table. She sat down and started playing poker.
Anouk talked about some script issues; Penelope's part needed to be revised.
Anouk was the head writer, but Finnian was the executive producer of the show. Even though she was the writer, she had to listen to Finnian.
Moreover, Penelope's scenes weren't being added; they were being cut.
They wanted her to leave early.
Natalie drew a joker card, her eyes lighting up. "If her scenes conflict with her later schedule, we can consider cutting some. Has Penelope reached out to you?"
"Yes, her executive agent came to me and said it was also Finnian's idea."
"Finnian's idea?" Natalie raised an eyebrow. She knew about Finnian and Penelope's relationship.
Seeing Anouk nod, Natalie said, "If it's Finnian's decision, then let's go with it."
"Penelope's side said she can only shoot the first part and won't have time for the second. But she's the second female lead with a significant role and a well-developed character. Many top-tier actors competed for this role before Penelope got it. If we end this character early, we'll have to rewrite the second part and find a new supporting actress."
"I trust you with handling the plot. If you encounter any difficulties, let me know."
Beatrix chimed in, "I heard Penelope got a great opportunity, which is why she won't be in the second part."
