Chapter 1355 Unbreakable Rules
Lauchelle had amassed an incredible fortune for herself. She rarely visited, but the servants and the housekeeper kept everything running smoothly.
Tomorrow was Kamille's birthday bash.
Tonight, the crystal banquet hall was already set up for the event.
When Natalie walked in, the housekeeper was overseeing Kamille's staff to ensure nothing got damaged. Seeing Natalie, the housekeeper greeted her respectfully, "Miss Teeger, you're back."
"Tomorrow's Miss Cross's birthday party. Make sure everything is secure, including the food and the guests. They all need to be thoroughly checked. I've borrowed a batch of skilled bodyguards from the Howard family. Arrange them accordingly tomorrow."
"Got it."
Later that evening, Natalie called Lauchelle.
It was around 8 AM on Lauchelle's end.
When asked about her life, Natalie said everything was fine and chatted with Lauchelle for a bit.
Natalie thought of something, "Lauchelle, do you know about the Houston Cruise?"
Lauchelle replied, "Why are you asking about that?"
Natalie hesitated and said, "I accidentally clicked on a webpage, and a message about it popped up. I'm a bit curious."
"Oh, I do know a bit about it. Natalie, you need to be careful with this and not get involved. It's much more complicated than you think."
Natalie didn't hide anything, "Lauchelle, a good friend of mine went in and then disappeared. There's been no news. I'm afraid my friend might have been..." taken for drug testing, which could be dangerous.
Lauchelle said, "This is tricky. How long has it been?"
"Two months now."
"This cruise is the product of a standoff between two top-tier capital groups, existing for over thirty years. It started as a trading venue and evolved into a gray area. But not everything can be fulfilled here. If they can't meet your needs, they'll release you. I went in once to look for someone but didn't find her. I know the final boss here, but I can't say more. You know, some things can't be discussed. There are rules here that none of us can break. People inside are usually released within three months and generally aren't in danger, though they lose their memory of that time. Don't worry."
Hearing this, Natalie breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thank you, Lauchelle."
"Natalie, don't be curious about this place, and don't go in. No matter what difficulties you face, don't choose to enter. Once inside, you'll see the darkest side of human nature."
"Then why does it exist? People taken for drug testing, but we have free drug testing centers and volunteers now. What's the point of this place?" Natalie didn't understand.
Lauchelle coughed and said, "Natalie, some things aren't meant to exist."
Natalie suddenly remembered Quincy's words.
She understood.
"I got it, Lauchelle."
The next morning at 9 AM.
Kamille arrived at the banquet hall.
The international socialite Kamille's birthday party officially started at 7 PM. Naturally, those who came were people of high status. Receiving an invitation was a symbol of respect and status.
"Natalie, where's Rachel? Her phone isn't reachable. My invitation was sent to the Howard family, and the electronic invitation was also issued, but there's no news from her."
