Chapter 1324 First Encounter with Elmer Roach
Rachel's eyes were covered with a black cloth, and then she seemed to be put into a car.
The car drove for a while, and she silently counted in her mind.
It should have been about ten minutes when the car stopped.
Rachel got out of the car, and the black cloth was removed from her eyes. In front of her was a three-story townhouse.
Walking inside, there was a courtyard, and behind the courtyard was the house.
It seemed that the owner of this place was quite wealthy.
A villa in the Victorian style.
A middle-aged man came out, "Take Zephyr to the third floor, let her meet Mr. Roach."
Rachel looked around the villa. Judging by the decor, the owner had quite a refined taste.
They arrived at the door of a room, and Rachel was brought inside.
The first thing she saw was a large bed, and lying on the bed was a young man.
It wasn't until she got closer that she could see him clearly.
The man had his eyes closed, his features were delicate and handsome, but his lips were pale. It was obvious he was gravely ill and near death.
This person must be the middle-aged man's son.
"Zephyr, this is Mr. Roach."
The middle-aged man walked in, "This is your future husband. Get ready, you're getting married tomorrow."
Rachel's eyes widened, what?
So this man bought her to marry his sickly son?
Rachel looked at the middle-aged man, "Do you know this is illegal? Human trafficking is illegal! Your son is in this condition, and you still want me to marry him! Do you think that just because I marry him, he'll get better?"
The middle-aged man glanced at Rachel, "You will be my son's wife, and I will not treat you poorly. The entire North Island will be yours, with all the money and power you could want. I only have one son, and as long as you treat him well and stay by his side, you can have anything you desire. I know your previous family might have been wealthy, but here, you can live that kind of life too."
The middle-aged man could tell from Rachel's attire, even though she looked a bit disheveled and weak, her clothes, her shoes, and her demeanor all indicated she was a rich man's daughter, definitely not an ordinary person.
But having fallen into the hands of human traffickers, even if he hadn't bought her, someone else would have.
He said, "Zephyr, I saved you. You should be grateful to me. From now on, I am your father. If I hadn't bought you, you might have been sent somewhere else by those traffickers. Here, you will be the mistress of the entire North Island, living a life of luxury. You should be thankful to me."
Rachel sneered, "Well, thank you."
She pretended to smile, speechless at this man.
But with two burly men at the door, and being unfamiliar with this small island, she had no way out for now.
Rachel pondered what to do.
The middle-aged man, however, thought she was being obedient and immediately said, "As long as you are sensible, you will live a life of wealth and honor. I only have one son, Elmer. Once he gets better, you will have a long and happy life together."
The middle-aged man was also a picky person. When he first saw Rachel's photo, he chose her at first glance. Even though Rachel was in a sorry state, her face was exceptionally beautiful.
Moreover, she looked a lot like Elmer's mother.
So, the middle-aged man didn't say anything harsh to Rachel.
