Chapter 790 Rachel's Return
Rosalie was still stuck in bed, so Jerry tried to calm her down. "That guy's relative is probably in the hospital, too, so he'll show up soon. I'll keep an eye out. You just rest up, and when you're feeling better, we'll go check it out together."
Rosalie knew she wasn't in great shape, so she just nodded.
Meanwhile, Alice had moved into the Howard Mansion and was already acting like she owned the place.
Ruben was still in the hospital.
Claire spent her days focusing on her health, sometimes hanging out with friends.
Joe was usually at his antique shop, and Adrian hardly ever came home. Melissa only dropped by once or twice a week.
Rachel had been on a trip for the past few days.
Alice, on the other hand, was getting more and more demanding of everything.
She'd have the staff prepare over ten dishes for lunch regularly.
The servants didn't dare slack off. The butler didn't say much either since Alice was pregnant and needed the nutrition.
"I want fresh, warm seafood porridge from Summit Pavilion. Go get it for me," Alice ordered a maid.
The maid had no choice but to go, even though Summit Pavilion was far away. It would take nearly two hours round trip, especially during midday traffic.
When the porridge finally arrived, it was still warm, thanks to an insulated bag. But after one sip, Alice declared it wasn't fresh.
"What is this? It's disgusting!" Alice poured the porridge over the maid's head.
The maid bit her lip, not daring to fight back, and closed her eyes as the porridge dripped down her face.
Alice lounged on the couch and snapped, "Why the long face? If you don't want to work here, you can leave."
The maid quickly lowered her head, not saying a word, and cleaned up the mess.
Alice smirked, and Renee asked, "Ms. Cullen, is there anything else you'd like to eat? I'll have someone get it for you. Don't go hungry."
Alice replied, "This maid is so clumsy, she ruined my appetite."
The maid looked panicked and quickly apologized.
Renee waved her hand impatiently. "Get out of here and don't ruin Ms. Cullen's appetite."
Just then, Rachel walked in with her suitcase, fresh from her trip. She handed it to a nearby maid. "There are fragile items inside. Be careful."
"Yes, ma'am."
Rachel, wearing a bucket hat and looking vibrant with her red lips, had just taken a few steps inside when she saw a maid with porridge all over her head running out from Alice's room, nearly bumping into her.
Rachel frowned. "Hold on! What's going on? What happened?"
The maid looked up. "Ms. Howard."
Rachel recognized her as Saskia, who often cleaned her place.
Rachel asked, "Saskia, what happened to you?"
Saskia's eyes were red. "Ms. Howard, I..."
Saskia wanted to speak but didn't dare to.
Rachel had spent the past month traveling with friends, visiting seven countries, and seeing different landscapes. She hadn't expected to come back and see her maid covered in porridge.
Rachel couldn't believe someone in the Howard family was acting so wild and arrogant.
