Chapter 1233 The Note Was Filled with Many Apologies

The next evening at 6:30, Andrea was at the window and saw Rachel walking out.

She was wearing a white dress, looking like a fairy, which made Andrea extremely jealous.

'Why does Rachel get to be born into such a prominent family?'

'Why do I have to live under someone else's roof?'

Andrea's friend, who lived near Street Heart Garden, sent her a message, telling her that Rachel had been there all along and hadn't left.

Andrea started to panic.

If it got to 9 o'clock and Jamie went over, would he find out that the person he had been in contact with was Rachel?

Would he fall for Rachel?

No, Andrea wouldn't let that happen. She was thinking about how to stop it.

As it got close to 9 o'clock and Jamie was about to leave, she ran out too. "Jamie."

Jamie just looked at her indifferently and asked what was the matter.

While Andrea was thinking about how to stop Jamie from going out, fate seemed to be on her side.

Nathaniel came back.

And he was drunk.

Both Andrea and Jamie's faces changed because when he got drunk, he would go crazy.

Jamie glanced at Andrea. "Go back to your room."

Andrea immediately went back to her room. She knew what was about to happen.

Soon, she heard a scream from Delphine.

Then came Delphine's pleading voice.

"Stop hitting, stop hitting, Jamie is our child, don't hit him."

"Hit me, hit me, spare Jamie."

Andrea would never forget those sounds for the rest of her life—the sound of a stick hitting flesh, and Jamie's suppressed, enduring voice.

She didn't know how long it lasted.

She tightly closed her door, afraid that Nathaniel would burst in.

And because of this unexpected event, Rachel waited for four hours without seeing Jamie.

Jamie was unconscious, covered in injuries, with broken ribs. He was quietly taken to the hospital that night.

His ribs had punctured his lungs, and he underwent surgery that night. His condition was very dangerous.

But outwardly, they said Jamie had gone somewhere else to study.

Ruben didn't suspect anything.

After all, who would have thought that the seemingly gentle Nathaniel was such a violent person?

That year, Andrea was 16.

But what Andrea didn't expect was that after this incident, although Jamie remained silent and enduring, he seemed to have a different attitude towards Rachel.

Could it be that Jamie had found out?

No, it couldn't be.

He seemed to be much gentler with Rachel.

Andrea went to the Street Heart Garden, their secret base.

Rachel hadn't come to leave anything again, but Jamie had been there many times, each time waiting for the person who used to leave things for him.

He left many notes in the box, all saying "I'm sorry," but Rachel never came back.

But why was Jamie being nicer to Rachel?

Andrea didn't have time to think about it because when she got home, she faced another huge disaster.

Today, it was just her and Nathaniel at home.

She had no blood relation to the Lawson family; she was just a girl Octavia had picked up.

Nathaniel's gaze towards Andrea began to change.

She stood in the living room, wanting to go upstairs, but after a few steps, she realized she was wrong.

She shouldn't go upstairs; she should run out and leave this house.

Because with just the two of them at home, no matter where Andrea hid, she couldn't escape.

She turned and ran downstairs.

After a few steps, she was blocked.

Andrea trembled, "Dad."

"Andrea, are you going out?"
