Chapter 217 As You Wish

Natalie said, "Adrian, self-respect is something you rich people talk about. For someone poor like me, self-respect is worthless. To me, a virginity can sell for $200,000, and I made a profit. If I had known you liked virgins, I would have gotten my virginity restored before sleeping with you. That way, the person you would marry would be me, right?"

Sometimes, the most hurtful thing wasn't a knife but harsh words.

As her words finished, Adrian's eyes grew darker, and the veins on his forehead throbbed. If he hadn't been controlling himself so hard, he feared he might strangle Natalie.

Adrian said, "Don't let me see you with Daniel again. If I do, I'll find a way to make you disappear from Vachilit."

Natalie asked, "How will I disappear?"

On Adrian's light gray pillow, Natalie's long hair spread out. She didn't seem afraid, smiling faintly. "Daniel likes me; what does that have to do with me? You should go find him. He's your brother. What's the point of arguing with me? As you all say, I'm a vain woman, just in it for the money. I can't be more happy about it if a rich guy is pursuing me."

Before Natalie could finish her sentence, her slender neck was gripped.

She held onto Adrian's hand that was choking her, tilting her head back and struggling to breathe. "I've endured twenty-one years of hardship. If you strangle me to death, it would be a relief for me, but it's a pity to dirty your hands."

Natalie closed her eyes.

If she really died, it would be a relief sometimes. Living was really exhausting for her.

She wanted to go to heaven to see her dad and her brother, to see how they were doing. She wanted to tell her dad and brother that these years had been really tough for her and Rosalie. She wanted to see her grandma and stay by her side. She wanted her grandma to hold her.

She was really tired, running back and forth between school and the hospital. Without money, Rosalie's condition was delayed. Rosalie couldn't afford surgery or to be hospitalized, and was moved from the ward to the hallway, sleeping on the floor every night.

She had given her first time to Adrian. Her child was gone too. Her mother was still in that mental hospital, monitored by Avery.

Natalie's eyes, once bright, had turned lifeless, losing their hope for life. Adrian's pupils trembled, and he suddenly let go of her. She gasped for air, her voice hoarse. "Mr. Howard, I won't leave Vachilit. If you don't want me to see Daniel again, then control your brother."

Adrian looked at her, not moving.

Natalie wanted to leave, but Adrian was pressing down on her; she didn't have the strength to resist him.

However, Natalie knew what he hated. "Mr. Howard, do you want to continue?" she asked as if inviting him.

Her bathrobe had already been mostly removed by Adrian, but the belt was still tied. Natalie slowly untied it, taking off the bathrobe. "Mr. Howard, it's 8 AM now. We have to go to Pearl Island at 10 AM. If you don't want to continue, I'll leave first. If you do, we have two hours left."

Natalie's enthusiastic invitation usually made Adrian let her go, but at this moment, Adrian's expression changed. "Alright, as you wish."

Natalie was stunned. "What?"

Adrian hated me so much. How could he agree?

She had really miscalculated!
