Chapter 469 Not a Dream

Adrian was already up. He stretched out his long arm, pulled Natalie close, and said, "Hey Natalie, miss me?"

Natalie nodded, snuggling into his chest. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back?"

"Sorry, I got in late," Adrian said, his eyes deep and serious.

That line made Natalie a bit fuzzy. She could've sworn she heard it last night.

She thought she was dreaming.

After all, how could Adrian just show up like that?

Turns out, it was all real.

He really did show up last night.

She never expected Adrian to apologize.

It wasn't the first time, but it still caught her off guard.

Adrian seemed different from the bossy guy she remembered. He was more chill now.

"When did you get back?" Natalie leaned into his chest, closed her eyes, and felt a wave of calm wash over her.

"Yesterday," Adrian said, "I wanted to surprise you. Got off the plane, no rest, and then Brice got a call from your agent."

Natalie blinked and suddenly noticed Adrian wasn't wearing any clothes. Her eyes went wide.

Her face turned bright red.

She looked at him. "Why aren't you wearing anything?"

Adrian held her tighter. "Why should I wear clothes to sleep?"

He said it so matter-of-factly.

Natalie tried to prop herself up. "I promised Heather we'd go over the script last night, and I totally forgot. You just got back, you must be wiped. You should rest."

Before she could sit up, Adrian's arm tightened around her waist like a vice. He flipped over, pulling her into his embrace, and kissed her deeply. Natalie wrapped her arms around his neck.

His familiar scent calmed her down.

After the kiss, Adrian let her go, slightly out of breath. "I missed you, a lot. These past few days, I even dreamed about you."

"What did you dream about?" Natalie asked, also a bit breathless.

Adrian bent down, a smile playing on his lips. His morning voice was hoarse and low as he whispered in her ear, his breath tickling her cheek. "I dreamed about what we're gonna do next."

Natalie got the hint, her face turning red. "Can't you be a bit more serious?"

Adrian held her, looking a bit tired, burying his face in her shoulder, inhaling the scent of her hair. "I am serious. Do you know how much I've missed you these past few days? Nat, stay with me, always, okay?"

Natalie pursed her lips slightly, her hand wrapping around his waist.

At 9:30 AM, Adrian left Natalie's place and headed to the Howard Group, while Natalie tidied up and went to the hospital.

Even though Rosalie wasn't her real mom and was the reason her life had been a mess for the past twenty years, she couldn't just leave Rosalie alone in the hospital.

Her heart was all over the place, she couldn't just ignore it.

At the hospital, Natalie first peeked into the ward.

The caregiver was taking good care of Rosalie. She turned and went to the nurse's station. "How's the patient in room 6, bed 3?"

Natalie knew most of the nurses here since Rosalie had been here for a while.

"Mrs. Duncan, right? Her creatinine levels are normal, and all her data is back to normal. She probably just got too emotional. As long as she stays calm and takes her meds, she should be fine."

Natalie thanked the nurse and was about to leave.

Suddenly, a voice called out to her, not very friendly. "Natalie, what are you doing here?"

Natalie turned to see it was Traylor.
