Chapter 192 Owe You a Favor
Natalie said, "You're fine for now. When the ambulance arrives, you should go to the hospital for a thorough check-up."
Ruben looked at the young girl in front of him. "Was it you who saved me?"
Natalie lowered her eyes and said, "Sort of."
"What do you mean?" Ruben asked.
"To be precise, you saved yourself," Natalie said with a faint smile. "If it weren't for your good fortune, I wouldn't have been able to save you."
Hearing these words, Ruben laughed out loud. This girl was indeed quite interesting.
The members of the Howard family saw Ruben laugh and found it hard to grasp his thoughts. Meanwhile, Alice was extremely angry. Tonight, she had truly shot herself in the foot. If Natalie hadn't come, then even if Mr. Howard had had an accident, it wouldn't have been her responsibility. But now, she was being ignored while Natalie was being praised. If Natalie hadn't come tonight, then the praise that Natalie was receiving would have been directed at Alice.
Ruben said to Natalie, "You saved me, so I owe you a favor. If you ever need anything, you can come to me."
Soon, the ambulance arrived.
Ruben was taken to the hospital, and almost all the members of the Howard family went along, as Ruben's health was of utmost importance.
Jeffery and Mia stayed at home.
Mia clutched her chest. "Thank goodness Ruben is alright. Natalie, thank you so much. You're amazing."
Jeffery said, "Natalie, thank you so much for tonight. Your medical skills are incredible. Did you just use acupuncture?"
Natalie put the silver needles back into her bag and replied, "Yes, I learned it from my grandmother when I was young. She was a local doctor, and I picked it up from her."
Natalie was about to leave when she saw Daniel walking towards her. "Natalie, let me take you home."
"Didn't you go to the hospital?" Natalie asked.
"Adrian and the others went, so did my mom. I came back to take you home," Daniel added.
On the way, Natalie looked out the car window.
It was around 9 PM.
The light was dim, and the night scenery outside the car window was just right.
Daniel glanced at the rearview mirror, looking at Natalie's gentle and delicate face. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, organizing his words. "Natalie, thank you for tonight. Thank you for saving grandpa Ruben."
"Never mind," Natalie replied.
If it had been anyone else having an attack, she would have saved them as long as she had the ability.
They drove to the Cullen family's villa, and Daniel stopped the car.
Natalie got out of the car but was called back by him.
"In a few days, the Pearl Island tourist area will be developed. Would you like to go and have some fun for a few days? It's the latest development by the Howard Group. It's an independent island with beautiful scenery. Consider it my way of thanking you for saving grandpa Ruben. How about we go and relax for a few days?"
"I think I can’t go. I have work to do," Natalie declined.
"Aren't you working at the Imperial Nightclub? I know someone in management there. I can get you some time off. Natalie, don't refuse. You saved Ruben and I should thank you. Just think of it as classmates going on a trip to relax." Seeing Natalie still hesitating, Daniel quickly said, "It's settled then. I'll pick you up next Monday."
After saying that, he drove off quickly, not giving Natalie a chance to refuse.
