Beck said, "No need to wait. I can give you my answer right now. Actually, Liam came to see me before this, but I turned him down. I don't want to work with wolves. Chloe came to Mark's engagement party with a friend.
She picked up a small piece of red velvet cake from the buffet table and had just taken a bite when she greeted a girlfriend nearby. Someone who looked like a server came over and said to Chloe, "Ms. Henderson, someone wants to meet you in lounge room 202."
Chloe put down what she was holding. "Who is it?"
"They said they're your friend."
Chloe wondered who it could be, being so mysterious.
Chloe arrived at the door of room 202.
She knocked and found the door unlocked, so she pushed it open.
What she saw was a woman's back. The woman stood by the window with her back to her, wearing a pink velvet gown.
Chloe looked at her back and felt it was somewhat familiar.
"Did you ask for me? May I ask who you are..." Chloe had just started speaking when the person turned around. Chloe's eyes widened.
Rachel smiled at her old friend. "What's wrong, don't you recognize me?"
Chloe seemed frozen. She stared wide-eyed, and after more than ten seconds, she suddenly rushed over and hugged Rachel. "Rachel, it's really you! I thought I was seeing things! I thought I got it wrong."
Rachel hugged her back. "It's me, it really is me."
Chloe's eyes reddened and her voice choked up. "Rachel, do you know how long we've been looking for you? I thought, I thought something happened to you. I thought I'd never see you again in this lifetime. Do you know how much Adrian and Natalie miss you, and your family too? You're actually here. I need to tell them, I need to tell them I found you!"
Rachel stopped her. "Niamh, listen to me."
"How's my grandfather? Is he doing okay? How are my parents?"
"They're okay, just not in great spirits. After you disappeared, they aged a lot. They've been looking for you this whole time, and Adrian and Natalie too - they've been searching everywhere for you."
