Chapter 565 Video
Natalie’s lips parted, “You don’t believe me?”
Rosalie stared blankly, “Impossible. How could it be Alice? Natalie, I get it, this is a lot to handle. You’re upset, but you can’t just say it’s Alice.”
Out of nowhere, Natalie started laughing.
The more she laughed, the more it hurt.
This was Rosalie, her mom, the one she’d given up everything for!
That look of disbelief on Rosalie's face, like she was making it all up, really stung.
Natalie felt a sharp pain in her chest.
Slowly, the pain turned numb.
She laughed until tears streamed down her face.
Adrian didn’t believe her, and now Rosalie didn’t either.
To them, Alice was the precious little princess, and Natalie was just a lowly maid, a whore to be scolded and trampled on.
For the first time, Natalie saw Rosalie for what she was—just as fake.
Rosalie said she was sorry and loved Natalie.
However, the first word she spat out was "impossible" the moment she heard it was Alice.
Rosalie’s face was a mess of emotions. “How could it be Alice? She doesn’t need money, Natalie. I know you’re hurt, and I know you’ve given up a lot for me, but what’s this got to do with Alice?”
Natalie asked softly, “You don’t believe me?”
Rosalie was silent for a few seconds.
Natalie laughed. “Because deep down, you think the woman in the picture is me.”
“No, Natalie. I know you and Alice look alike, but Alice has no reason to do this. She wouldn’t hang out with a bunch of tattooed thugs. Natalie, I do believe you.”
Natalie had planned to just let Rosalie leave.
She didn’t want to say much more to her.
There was nothing left to say between them.
Even though Rosalie had done a lot to hurt her, even though she’d changed Natalie’s life, Natalie couldn’t completely cut her off. Rosalie had raised her for 23 years; she couldn’t just sever that bond.
But now, Natalie’s love for Rosalie were gone.
They were all hypocrites, fooled by Alice.
They never believed Natalie.
Natalie opened the door and looked at Heather standing at the entrance, “Did they send you the video? Bring your laptop in.”
Heather said, “Give me ten minutes.”
Heather went back to her office, grabbed her laptop, and checked her email. Yancy hadn’t sent the video yet, so she called him.
Yancy had pulled an all-nighter and was still sleeping.
Hearing the phone ring, Yancy groggily picked it up and saw an unfamiliar number.
He hung up and put the phone aside.
The phone rang again.
Yancy stared at the screen, sat up, and finally answered.
Heather said, “Yancy, it’s me, Anna Ross, from last night.”
“Oh, I remember, Ms. Ross.” Yancy smiled, leaned against the headboard, and lit a cigarette. “What’s up? Miss me?”
Heather said, “Can you send me the video?”
Yancy replied, “What video? Oh, sure.”
Heather gave him her email address.
About two minutes later, Heather’s email dinged with a new video file.
Heather opened it.
The image was a bit blurry.
Suddenly, a woman’s moan came from the video.
