Chapter 1093 Indirect Surveillance

Natalie took a deep breath and said, "You've always been so irresponsible. If you jump, the value of this whole building will tank. Avery and Alice will be stuck with a mountain of debt while you get to rest in peace. It's absurd."

Curtis hesitated, her words hitting him hard.

Natalie turned away. "You don't deserve to be called my father. You're just a irresponsible coward. Life always gives you chances to start over; it's just about having the guts to take them. Everyone has rough patches. I remember working four jobs a day at seventeen to save Rosalie. I remember Avery's scolding, Alice's insults, and your cowardice."

With that, Natalie walked away.

Whether Curtis jumped or not was none of Natalie's concern. A gentle breeze brushed her face as she put on her mask and left the rooftop.

While Curtis was still in a daze, the police rushed in and saved him.

Curtis didn't resist as the police took him down from the rooftop.

Cheers erupted from the crowd below.

Natalie got back into the car. Hearing the cheers, she knew Curtis hadn't jumped.

She rolled up the window and said to Derek, "Let's head to the hospital."

Derek replied, "Mrs. Howard, let's go home first. Change your clothes and rest a bit; you must be exhausted from rushing back."

Natalie thought for a moment and nodded.

Even though Adrian was in a coma and she really wanted to see him, she wanted to be at her best for him.

At Bayview Villa.

Rachel had been taking care of Lucky, so only the housekeepers came by daily to clean.

Natalie and Adrian didn't like having housekeepers around all the time, so they only had the Howard family's staff come by regularly to clean.

When Natalie got home, everything was spotless as usual.

As she stepped through the door, an intelligent robot's voice greeted her, "Mrs. Howard, welcome home." She headed to the bathroom for a shower. Looking at herself in the mirror, she realized she hadn't been in great shape lately. The weight of her responsibilities felt suffocating.

She lifted her head, letting the warm water wash over her face.

Golden Crest Manor.

Bella leaned against the window, staring at the scenery outside.

Liliana knocked and came in. "Ms. Swan, I made some honeyed water for you. Give it a try."

Bella had no appetite and shook her head.

Liliana walked over and placed the honeyed water in front of her. "You didn't eat much for breakfast. How can you keep going like this? You're pregnant, and the baby needs nourishment too."

Bella was already too thin and had lost even more weight recently, but her belly was starting to show.

Bella bit her lip. "If I could, I wouldn't want this child."

Liliana shook her head. "You can't say things like that in front of Mr. Reynolds, or he'll be furious. Ms. Swan, why make things so hard with Mr. Reynolds? If you were a bit more compliant, he wouldn't hurt you. He wants us to report your condition daily; he cares about you."

Bella gave a bitter smile. "Reporting my condition is just a way to monitor me, isn't it? You think he's good, but I don't. If he really cared about me, he'd let me go instead of keeping me here. This is illegal, you know? You're complicit in this, Liliana."
