Chapter 166 Natalie Protected by the Tycoon
"You go to the kitchen and prepare a meal for two, then pack it up. I'm going out," Alice arrogantly ordered.
Adrian hadn't contacted her much lately. Even when she reached out, he made excuses about being too busy with work. The baby wasn't Adrian's. Alice was getting anxious. She had to take the initiative!
Natalie frowned. Cooking would take up time, and she was in a hurry to get to the hospital.
"Ms. Cullen, you can have Lori or Lizzy prepare it. Their culinary skills are better than mine," she suggested.
Alice couldn't stand seeing Natalie idle. "I asked you to do it. What's the problem? Your mother is lying in the hospital, thanks to me and my mother helping out. You all live under the Cullen family's roof, but you don't do anything. What use are you to us?"
Renee approached and quickly placated Alice, "Ms. Cullen, you're pregnant now. You can't get angry easily. Natalie, you dare ignore Ms. Cullen's orders? Hurry up and do as she says!"
Natalie bit her lip, suppressed her emotions, and silently entered the kitchen.
She washed her hands, opened the fridge, and started preparing the ingredients.
For the meal for two people, she decided to make tomato scrambled eggs, stir-fried beef, soup, and baked chicken parmesan.
It seemed Natalie couldn't go to the hospital this morning.
After preparing the two dishes, she placed them in a thermal box. While the soup was cooking, Natalie took out her phone and sent a text to Jerry.
Natalie: [Shoreview General Hospital is hiring part-time workers. I plan to go there this afternoon.]
Jerry quickly replied: [I'm already at Shoreview General Hospital. The sixth floor is heavily guarded. Ms. Teeger, when you arrive this afternoon, we'll talk in detail.]
Just as Natalie was about to send another message, Renee's angry shout came from the kitchen door. "I knew you would slack off!"
Natalie didn't argue. She put away her phone and continued working.
Renee, with her bulky figure leaning against the door frame, asked, "Natalie, how are things going with David?"
Renee had been calling David these days, but his attitude was extremely impatient. When asked about his relationship with Natalie, David even hung up directly. Natalie must have done something!
Natalie was surprised. Didn't Renee know that David was almost disabled from being beaten? If Renee knew, she would surely bother Natalie again.
"Why ask me instead of him? Aren't you his aunt?" Natalie retorted.
Renee waddled in. "David is more than good enough for you in every aspect! Think about what kind of person you are. Do you still think you have the liberty to choose? You're lucky that David even looks at you."
"Well, why don't you call David and ask? What do I know?" Natalie said simply.
Renee immediately took out her phone and called David.
On the other end, David was still in the hospital, his legs and arms in casts, bandages supporting them, his head wrapped in gauze. He was panting in pain, with two people by his side.
"Renee, why are you calling me again?"
David was getting fed up with Renee. Natalie was really someone not to mess with. Who knew she had a tycoon protecting her? Now that he and his brother were in this state from the beating, they couldn't retaliate. If he dared to touch Natalie again, his life would be in danger.
