Chapter 825 Need for Honest Communication

Heather said, "I don't have many relatives left, and Grandma's doing well. I just want to go back to Vachilit. It's my home, and I love my job there. Plus, I want to get back early to see you and my boyfriend."

Natalie teased, "Oh, so you miss Yancy, huh?"

Heather shot back, "I miss you the most."

"Yeah, right," Natalie said, rolling her eyes.

Heather pouted happily, "Natalie, you always pick on me."

"So, how far have you and Yancy gone? He's a good guy, but if you want something long-term, you need to know each other's families." Natalie had a gut feeling the first time she met Yancy that he wasn't just some regular bar owner.

But Heather probably had no clue.

If they were serious about each other, honesty was key.

Natalie worried Heather might get hurt.

The day after "The Nameless Road" premiered, it raked in $74 million at the box office, pushing the two-day total over $100 million. The second day's pre-sales hit $20 million. Chris had expected this and wasn't overly impressed, but it was a good start. At this rate, hitting $500 million seemed doable.

This was Natalie's first movie as the lead actress. Her performance wasn't mind-blowing, but it was solid.

Natalie's Facebook blew up with 200,000 new followers.

The feedback over the past couple of days had been pretty positive.

A lot of people were starting to notice Natalie's acting chops.

Since her debut, Natalie had always been seen as someone who relied on connections, pretty but lacking in talent. She had some fans, but they were mostly drawn in by marketing and her image. Genuine fans were few, and she was often labeled as a "traffic actress" in the early stages of her career. Netizens loved to bash actresses like her for having looks but no real work to back it up. But now, with "The Nameless Road" pulling in $120 million in just two days, Natalie finally had a hit to her name.

Natalie was thrilled.

She ended her call with Heather, took a shower, and lay down on her bed.

After a moment of hesitation, she called Adrian.

Even though she knew Adrian wouldn't come tonight, she still had a sliver of hope.

"Hey," he answered quickly.

"Are you busy right now?" Natalie asked.

Adrian remembered he had promised to spend the evening with Natalie, but tonight he had to break that promise.

Alice was still in the ICU, and he couldn't be with Natalie tonight.

"Something came up," Adrian said.

"What happened?" Natalie asked.

"Alice had a miscarriage. She's in the hospital, unconscious, and not doing well," Adrian replied.

Natalie was stunned.

She thought, 'Alice had a miscarriage? Is he worried about Alice now? After all, the child was his and Alice is his fiancée.'

Natalie suddenly didn't know what to say or how to comfort him or herself.

She took a deep breath. "How did it happen?"

"The doctor said it was an ectopic pregnancy," Adrian explained.

Natalie bit her lip.

After a few more minutes of talking, they hung up. Adrian said he had things to deal with, and Natalie figured he was heading to the hospital.

Natalie sat on her bed, thinking about her own child.

She reached out and touched her abdomen.

The pain of losing that child was unbearable.
