Chapter 740 Pregnant
Odette strolled over. "Karen, you good?"
Karen bent down, fished the proposal outta the trash, and handed it to Odette. "Check out what we got and find a top-notch newbie. This plan's hers now."
Odette nodded. "Got it."
Odette had been Karen's assistant since Karen joined Dynamic Entertainment.
Holding the proposal, Odette said, "Karen, I'm worried Alice is gonna flip out. You didn't have to go that hard. We could've still worked something out with her. Now she's probably running to Adrian. I mean, she's his fiancée. If the Howard Group steps in, we're in deep trouble."
Karen looked up. "You really think Finnian could pull the plug on the investment without the Howard Group's say-so?"
Odette was a bit taken aback. "But Alice is Adrian's fiancée. Why would Adrian agree to pull the investment? A few hundred million bucks is chump change to the Howard Group. Doing this would be a huge diss to Alice."
"Do you think Adrian gives a damn about Alice?" Karen smirked. "If Adrian cared about Alice, she'd have more resources and the movie One Day wouldn't have gone to Natalie in the first place."
Natalie had been wanting a break ever since her latest film wrapped up.
Adrian said he'd have a week off next week and wanted to take Natalie on a little getaway. She was down. They picked an ancient town, Rosewood, just a three-hour drive from their home.
Natalie crammed all her magazine and commercial shoots into Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, she was supposed to head to the ancient city with Adrian. She'd done a ton of research over the past few days. The place had a food street, some Insta-worthy spots, a church, and all sorts of cool local stuff.
Soon, Monday morning rolled around, and Natalie was waiting at home for Adrian. But by 10 AM, he still hadn't shown up. It was an hour past their agreed time.
Natalie called Adrian, but no answer. She bit her lip. 'Did something happen, or is he just swamped with work?'
Natalie had never had a time when Adrian didn't pick up her calls.
Meanwhile, in the Howard family living room, almost everyone was there except Donte's crew.
Melissa, Joe, Claire, Adrian, Alice, Emmett, and Curtis were all seated in the living room.
Melissa gasped, "Alice, you're pregnant?"
Alice nodded, blushing. "Yeah, I've been feeling off while filming lately. Greasy food made me wanna hurl. Thought it was just a stomach thing, so I took some meds and pushed through. But it got worse, so I hit up the hospital. Doc said I'm pregnant, already six weeks in."
Melissa beamed. "That's awesome news, a big deal."
Claire grabbed Alice's hand. "Alice, really? Oh my gosh, that's amazing."
Alice glanced at Adrian, a smile lighting up her face. "Adrian, I'm so glad we could have another baby that I come to tell you as soon as I found out. Guess this will make up for our loss."
