Chapter 481 For Money, No Dignity
There wasn't a soul or a car in sight. The villas had these underground garages that nobody really used, with parking spots up top. Most folks in this fancy area just parked their rides above ground.
Alice didn't even try to hide her feelings; she was screaming Carlos's name like a maniac.
They were all over each other in the car. Not too far away, behind a pillar, some chick in a mask was sneakily filming the whole thing on her phone.
Natalie was chilling in the living room when Lizzy came out with a cup of joe for her.
No one else was around, and Renee was MIA. Lizzy couldn't help but ask, "How's Rosalie doing? Haven't seen her in ages. She holding up okay?"
"She's fine," Natalie replied, keeping it short.
Lizzy knew she had backstabbed Natalie, and things would never be the same between them.
Lizzy took the tray to the kitchen, then grabbed some cleaning stuff to tidy up the garden. She saw Renee by the flower bed, chatting on the phone, "Mrs. Cullen, yeah, Natalie's here. No clue where Ms. Cullen went. When are you coming back?"
Seeing this, Lizzy quickly ditched what she was holding and headed back to the living room. "Natalie, you thinking of leaving now? Renee called Mrs. Cullen. She's just having coffee at Mrs. Bell's place, which is nearby in this villa area. She should be back soon."
Lizzy was worried Avery would give Natalie a hard time when she got back. Natalie had been through hell with Avery in the Cullen family, so Lizzy came over to give her a heads-up.
Natalie took a sip of her coffee, the bitterness and richness hitting her throat. She slowly looked up. "I want to see Mrs. Cullen too."
She gripped the coffee cup tight and took a deep breath.
Natalie couldn't even put her feelings into words at that moment.
She didn't feel happy, or sad, or bitter, just a mix of absurdity and sadness.
She even thought that when the truth came out, no one would be happy. Avery, finding out Natalie was her real daughter, probably wouldn't feel any joy either, and neither would Natalie.
Sure enough, Avery rushed home right after getting the call. It took her just five minutes. When she walked into the living room and saw Natalie on the sofa, she was instantly pissed.
Natalie, the lowest servant in the Cullen family, was now dressed to the nines, sitting on the sofa like she owned the place.
Avery immediately noticed the dress Natalie was wearing was super pricey.
Avery sneered, "Renee told me we had a guest. I was wondering who it could be. Turns out it's the lowest servant in our house. What are you doing here? Where's your sick mom?"
Natalie exhaled slowly and looked at Avery.
Her vision suddenly got a bit blurry.
She reached out and rubbed her eyes, but they felt swollen and sore.
"Mrs. Cullen," she said, her chest heaving, "I came to see Alice. Is her fracture healed?"
Avery snorted, "My daughter doesn't need your visit."
Avery didn't kick her out right away; she wanted to humiliate Natalie a bit more. Looking at the bracelet on Natalie's wrist, she said, "I knew with a lowly mother like Rosalie, you'd be lowly and shameless. Have you latched onto some rich old man again? Someone as old as Curtis, who could be your dad? You really have no dignity for money."
Listening to Avery's humiliating words, Natalie's lips turned a bit pale, but she smiled slightly, with a hint of mockery in her eyes. "Mrs. Cullen, is that what you think of me?"
