Nicholas sneered, "Break the law? Go ahead, call the cops."
Bella couldn't help but laugh to herself, thinking, 'He's cut off the internet and has been watching me like a hawk. How am I supposed to call the police?'
"Nicholas, I'll never love you. The more you act like this, the more I despise you. The man I love is your brother, Austin. I'm your sister-in-law. I know the marriage certificate says we're married, but you tricked me!"
"Shut up!" Nicholas's face clouded over.
The room felt like the gloomy weather outside had seeped in.
Nicholas couldn't stand hearing her say she liked Austin.
"Nicholas, if I've wronged you before, I'm sorry. The baby I'm carrying is a mistake. I'll get an abortion and won't bother you anymore."
Bella just wanted to spend her life by Austin's side. Even if he stayed in a coma forever or passed away, she'd still be there for him.
A dark look crossed Nicholas's eyes as he clenched his fists and slammed the table.
Bella flinched, her face going pale.
As Nicholas shot up and walked towards her, Bella tried to step back but found herself against the half-open window.
Nicholas grabbed her chin, his fingers colder than the wind outside.
Bella slapped his hand away, struggling. "In my heart, you're nothing compared to Austin. No wonder I didn't like you from the start. You're arrogant and self-centered."
Nicholas suddenly grabbed her neck, his lips forming the words, "Shut up!"
"Austin is still lying in a hospital bed, his life hanging by a thread, and you've locked up your sister-in-law here! Imprisonment is illegal!" Bella shot back.
What he hated most was hearing the word sister-in-law.
'Bella is not my sister-in-law. She's my wife!' he thought.
For the first time, Nicholas felt jealous of Austin, and for the first time, he hated himself for being jealous of his own brother over a woman.
Bella struggled to breathe, tears streaming down her face. She coughed, feeling like she was suffocating. Nicholas looked like a fierce wolf in a stormy night. She bit her lip, almost drawing blood, but refused to beg for mercy.
Suddenly, Nicholas let go, as if snapping back to reality.
Bella collapsed to the ground, clutching her chest, gasping for air.
"If you don't want to eat, fine. For every meal you skip, I'll cut off a funding source for Swan Jewelry Company. For every day you don't eat, I don't mind making Swan Jewelry Company disappear from Vachilit. Let's see if I can do it. I believe a daughter who cares so much about her parents wouldn't want to see them worry about you." Nicholas's towering figure cast a shadow over her.
Nicholas reached out, his hand gently covering Bella's abdomen.
In his eyes, amidst the intense hostility, there was a rare trace of gentleness. "Give birth to this child, and I'll let you leave here. If anything happens to this child, I won't spare your parents."
Fear flashed in Bella's eyes as she glared at Nicholas, "Nicholas! If you dare touch my parents, you won't get away with it!"
"Then do as I told." Nicholas's fingers were cold as they caressed her delicate chin. His gaze was a mix of ruthlessness and obsessive tenderness.
