Chapter 488 She Doesn't Have an Invincible Heart

Natalie got a call from the hospital saying Rosalie was ready to be discharged.

She rubbed her forehead and muttered, "Alright, got it."

After hanging up, she still looked worried.

She couldn't just pretend everything was fine; it felt like there was a rock in her chest that wouldn't budge.

A few minutes later, she sighed and called Heather, asking her to find a good housekeeping company. She needed a nanny for Rosalie.

Heather was quick, and by the afternoon, the nanny showed up at Blue Mountain Community.

Natalie called the nanny to lay down the rules, especially making sure Rosalie took her meds and was well taken care of. The side bedroom was set up for the nanny.

The nanny nodded. "Got it, Ms. Teeger."

When Rosalie got home and opened the door, she saw the living room was spotless. A woman in her forties with her hair tied up, wearing a blue apron, was mopping the floor. Looking at Rosalie, Elena Baker said, "Ms. Teeger asked me to come over. She's worried about you and wants me to take care of you."

Elena, the nanny from the housekeeping company, had no clue about the issues between Rosalie and Natalie. She just thought Natalie was busy with work and didn't have time to care for Rosalie.

Rosalie looked at the stranger in her home, stunned, still processing what she had just said, "You said my daughter asked you to take care of me?"

Elena put down the mop, "Yep, Ms. Teeger asked me to come over."

She poured a glass of water for Rosalie. "Mrs. Teeger, Ms. Teeger said you'll stay in the master bedroom, and I'll be in the side bedroom."

Rosalie walked to the master bedroom. The room's layout was the same, but there were fewer books on the shelf, and the clothes in the wardrobe were gone. Almost all of Natalie's stuff had been moved out.

Rosalie's face changed, and she leaned against the door frame.

She knew it. Natalie had moved out.

Elena sensed Rosalie's disappointment. She didn't want to pry and just wanted to do her job well. This job paid well, and Elena was afraid Rosalie might send her back if she was unhappy. She quickly said, "Mrs. Teeger, you should rest. You must be tired after coming back from the hospital. Dinner will be ready soon."

Rosalie was indeed tired. She lay on the bed without saying a word.

Elena went to the kitchen to start dinner. She took out her phone and sent a message to Natalie: [Ms. Teeger, Mrs. Teeger has gone to bed. She seems to be in good spirits.]

After reading the message, Natalie put her phone on the coffee table.

She went to the bar, grabbed a bottle of red wine, poured half a glass, and took a sip.

Natalie drank one glass after another. Avery's cold and mocking words echoed in her mind. "What kind of precious daughter could a lowly woman like Rosalie give birth to? And you, dreaming of becoming rich? What a joke! Have you looked in the mirror to see if you're worthy? You're full of bad luck. Don't come near me and infect me. If I were you, I'd bash my head in. You're just a disgusting, lowly presence!"

Natalie let go and the wine glass fell to the ground.

The gray cashmere carpet was instantly stained with red wine.

She seemed drunk, lying on the bar.

In the past, she thought she was strong, facing the Cullen family like a warrior, unafraid of Avery and Alice's bullying. She could rise against any challenge.

But now, Natalie laughed at her own naivety.

She couldn't do it.

She didn't have an indestructible heart.
