Chapter 944 Apology

Thinking about the baby Bella was carrying, Nicholas swung the door open and yanked her into the living room. Bella bit down on his hand, but even though Nicholas winced, he didn't let go. Instead, he scooped her up, plopped her on the couch, and pinned her down. "Oh, you like to bite? Fine. I'll give you a chance."

Bella chomped down on his arm, hard, like she was letting out all the frustration from her messed-up life—being tailed by Cassidy's goons, being pregnant and alone while Austin was in a coma, and her anger at Nicholas.

The taste of blood filled Bella's mouth as she locked eyes with Nicholas. His gaze was clean but distant, like he didn't even feel the pain, just waiting for her to get it all out.

Bella finally let go, leaving a row of teeth marks in his arm.

She tasted the blood in her mouth and froze for a second. Staring at Nicholas's bleeding arm and the teeth marks, she muttered, "I'm sorry."

Nicholas barely glanced at the wound. He reached out, his long fingers gripping Bella's chin and lifting it, showing off her delicate jawline and long neck.

Bella's lips were red, smeared with his blood.

Her eyelashes fluttered, showing a hint of fear.

Nicholas leaned in, pressing his lips to hers. Bella shoved at his chest, trying to push him away, but it felt like pushing against a brick wall. Tasting his own blood on her lips seemed to set him off. His eyes flared with a fiery red, and he grabbed Bella's hands, pinning them above her head. His other hand pressed against her chest, keeping her from moving.

Bella screamed, calling Nicholas shameless. "Nicholas, do you even know what you're doing? Austin's still in a coma! How can you do this to me? How can you face Austin? You bastard!"

Bella felt a wave of helplessness and betrayal. She felt like she was betraying Austin and was utterly disgusted with Nicholas.

The light in her life had dimmed, leaving her feeling forever shadowed.

Nicholas watched her close her eyes, trying to resist him in silence. His eyes deepened, and he whispered in her ear, "Didn't you come onto me before?"

Bella's eyes snapped open, her lashes trembling.

She was breathing heavily. If her hands were free, she would've slapped him.

Tears welled up in her eyes. She closed them, trying to hold back, but they spilled over, her eyes turning red as she bit her lip, glaring at him.

Nicholas let go of her hands. "Don't look at me like that."

He grabbed a first aid kit from the drawer of a desk, found some gauze and antiseptic, and started cleaning the wound. When the hydrogen peroxide hit, he tightened his lips a bit.

Suddenly, Bella reached out and slapped him.
