Chapter 1217 Arriving on Time

Claire glanced at Rachel, signaling her not to interrupt in front of Ruben, as it was impolite.

But Rachel just wanted to speak.

Just now, Andrea looked as if she had suffered a great grievance.

Adrian said, "I've had Lucky for four years. During these four years, I rarely stayed at home; I mostly lived at Bayview Villa. Only the dog accompanied me. I know its temperament the best. It wouldn't actively attack humans; it always sees humans as friends."

"Of course, you might not believe me when I say this. Andrea's hand was indeed bitten by Lucky, which is wrong. I will investigate the matter thoroughly. I will find Lucky and confine it to Bayview Villa."

Ruben nodded.

"Let the servants look for it. Let's eat first," Joe suggested.

He glanced at Adrian, who nodded in agreement.

The group started walking towards the dining room.

Today was a family dinner, and they couldn't let this incident affect everyone's mood, especially not to upset Ruben.

Natalie went to the bathroom to wash her hands, and at this moment, Rachel walked in.

"Natalie, Lucky is in my yard, it's fine."

Natalie gave her a grateful look.

"Thank you."

"No need to be polite. I don't believe Lucky bit Andrea. You haven't realized Andrea's tactics yet. She's like that. Look at her, with her hand injured, looking all pitiful and teary-eyed, hoping everyone would comfort her. This might be her plan. Don't think Andrea wouldn't do it. I've known her for so long; she can do anything."

"But the wound on her hand does look like it was bitten by an animal. In such a short time, there's only Lucky, a big dog, at home. The wound matches too."

Natalie washed her hands and dried them. She had suspected Andrea did it on purpose, but the wound did look highly consistent.

"Maybe she deliberately provoked Lucky, making it angry and agitated, which led to the bite," Rachel said.

Natalie lowered her eyes.

"Even so, in Ruben's eyes, it's still Lucky's fault."

Compared to a dog, Andrea was naturally more important. Most of the Howard family would think this way.

After washing her hands, she walked out and went to the dining room.

The Howard family's dining table was a standard long table.

The seats were almost fixed, and Natalie sat next to Adrian.

With the incident of Andrea being bitten, the atmosphere at the dining table was somewhat tense.

Rachel, sitting opposite Natalie, lightly kicked Natalie's leg under the table. Natalie looked up and saw Rachel silently mouthing a sentence to her.

'So boring, let's finish eating quickly and leave.'

Natalie nodded.

Their little interaction was noticed by Melissa, who just smiled.

Joe suggested, "Natalie, let's leave this chess game here. I'll tell the servants not to touch the chess room. We've just started this game. Tomorrow, after I've rested, we'll continue."

Quincy said, "Of course. From the start of this game, I knew you were going to lose. I'll come tomorrow to watch you, to prevent you from denying your loss."

Joe said, "Who's denying? Quincy, we've been friends for so many years. Would I deny it?"

At this moment, the atmosphere at the dining table finally lightened up.

Natalie smiled and nodded, "I'll definitely be there on time tomorrow."
