Chapter 646 Playing the Victim and Deleting Reviews
"Can you even believe Natalie has fans? How are people into a slut who's always caught up in scandals?" Juniper griped, "What's with fans these days, liking someone despite all the bad press?"
"People got different tastes, Juniper. Chill, I'll handle this," Sunny assured her.
Juniper clenched her teeth. "Handle it how? We can't just delete the comments! Are we supposed to just let those insults sit there? I've never put up with this kind of crap."
Sunny's eyes darted around, and an assistant walked over. "We can't delete them, but we can play the victim card."
Juniper lowered her voice. "How do we play the victim?"
The assistant said, "We'll say that Natalie's fans are cyberbullying us. When the press release goes out, the blame will fall on Natalie."
In reality, most of the nasty comments under Juniper's studio posts were from Samuel's fans.
After all, the fans couldn't stand Juniper using Samuel for publicity.
But they couldn't afford to piss off Samuel, so the press release would only mention Natalie. Juniper nodded with a grin. "Good idea, Sunny. I'll leave this to you."
"Don't worry," Sunny said, "Don't let this get to you. Insults can also attract attention."
Last night, they had a night shoot that dragged on for five hours. Natalie only woke up in the afternoon. There was another night shoot tonight.
Just after waking up, Natalie took a shower and grabbed a bite.
"Natalie, have you seen the trending news?" Yvonne walked over, handing Natalie a glass of juice.
Natalie took a couple of sips. She really liked juice, but since she was filming, she ordered a sugar-free one. Luckily, her body type made it hard for her to gain weight, no matter what she had.
"What's up with the trending news?" Natalie had been busy filming and hadn't had time for gossip.
Yvonne handed her the phone. Natalie took a look and saw a candid photo where she was blurry, but Juniper and Samuel were in high definition.
Natalie glanced at the comments, seeing a mix of fans and bots arguing.
She handed the phone back to Yvonne, not really caring about it.
Natalie knew Juniper was the type who always wanted to outshine others. One look at the trending news, and she knew it was bought by Juniper's team.
Since the filming started, security had been tight. Any paparazzi trying to take and sell candid shots were blocked. All media visits were also denied.
Oscar was fully focused on filming behind closed doors.
But that didn't mean photos wouldn't leak.
After all, actors had their agents, assistants, and staff around them.
Yvonne said, "This angle clearly shows it was taken by someone on Juniper's side. Look at Juniper's face, perfectly contoured, while your face is sharpened, and your clothes are all blurry."
Seeing that Natalie didn't care, Yvonne added, "Juniper is maliciously trying to smear you. She's using Samuel for publicity and has already bribed the media. Natalie, should we also buy some media coverage and release some high-definition photos? After all, you're the female lead, and Samuel is the male lead. The publicity should be about you and Samuel."
Natalie shook her head. "Don't make decisions on your own. I don't like this kind of publicity. Samuel and I are friends, and we won't use this for publicity. Whether a movie becomes popular depends mainly on its storyline. This script is solid; it doesn't need underhanded publicity."
Besides, Samuel was never a fan of scandals and never did he make a move on a actress.
Natalie didn't like using friends to promote herself.
