Chapter 424 Words Left Unspoken

How could there be such a crazy coincidence?

This restaurant wasn't exactly cheap for Natalie. How could a maid like her afford to eat here?

Rachel didn't like Alice one bit. She didn't mind Adrian hanging out with Natalie; after all, Natalie was way better than Alice. Even though Alice saved Claire, Rachel still couldn't stand her.

Ever since Alice came up with that dumb idea of having Rachel drug Jamie and stay in the same room with him, Jamie had been avoiding her like the plague.

When she texted Jamie, he ghosted her.

When she called Jamie to ask him out to a movie, he always had some lame excuse.

Did Jamie not like her at all?

When Natalie got home at 9 PM, Rosalie was still up.

She was sitting on the couch knitting a light pink scarf. When she saw Natalie, she paused for a moment. "Natalie, you're back."

Natalie took off her coat and hung it up. She went to her room, changed clothes, and came back to see Rosalie putting away the yarn ball into the knitting basket and sliding it under the table, like she was done for the night.

It was just a simple action, but Natalie felt something was off. It seemed like this scarf wasn't for her.

Natalie said, "Mom, you called and said you wanted grapes. I brought some back for you. I'll wash them in the kitchen."

Rosalie asked, "Natalie, I have a friend whose distant relative's nephew is quite nice. He has a good job; he's a teacher at Vachilit No.16 High School. He's six years older than you. Although he's a bit older, he has a stable job. Do you have time this week? You should meet him."

Natalie was washing the grapes, sprinkling a bit of flour to clean them thoroughly. When she heard Rosalie's voice behind her, she paused. "Mom, I'm not ready for this now."

Rosalie said, "You are indeed still young, just graduated from college. But he has a good job and looks nice. I've seen his photo; he looks refined and is a math teacher."

Natalie didn't respond, focusing on washing the grapes as if all her thoughts were on that task.

Behind her, Rosalie stood at the kitchen door and continued, "Natalie, you know I'm not well. I don't know how much longer I have. I just hope to see you have a happy family while I'm still alive."

Natalie looked at her. "Mom, I've quit my job at Imperial Nightclub. I've signed with Dynamic Entertainment. I've been filming all week. I'll work hard to make money. Mom, you'll be healthy and well."

"Where did you sign?" Rosalie was taken aback.

Natalie drained the water, put the grapes in a bowl, and turned to Rosalie. "Dynamic Entertainment."

Rosalie's expression changed. "Natalie, why did you decide to enter the entertainment industry? It's too complicated. I just hope you can find an ordinary job."

"When I was working at Imperial Nightclub, I met a director who said I had a talent for acting, so I decided to give it a try. It's going okay so far." Natalie walked over and took Rosalie's arm. "The entertainment industry isn't as scary as I thought. Mom, have some grapes. You love these."

Seeing Natalie's determination, Rosalie didn't say much more.

But she seemed to have more to say.

They went to the living room.

Natalie sat on the couch and started watching a movie Esme had made earlier.
