Chapter 652 Change of Perspective

Juniper knew Oscar was a tough-as-nails director who didn't give a damn about anyone's feelings.

But hearing it straight from Ms. Dixon stung her bad.

Juniper wanted to argue, to set the record straight, but Ms. Dixon was already out the door, bag in hand.

A few minutes later, Sunny barged in. She hadn't expected things to go south this bad and jumped into damage control mode. The online buzz was just starting to settle, and the comments on the Facebook studio page were turned off.

"Alright, Juniper, I got the Facebook mess under control, but it cost us. Let's just focus on the shoot for now. You gotta film for two months for this role, and thanks to this gig, we're getting better scripts. Let's keep it chill and stay away from Natalie."

Juniper knew how serious this was and clenched her teeth. "Got it." But actually, she was fuming inside.

Just a week into filming, and she was already getting humiliated. Juniper had been in the game for years, usually the star of the show, but here in the Rising Winds cast, she was just another face in the crowd.

Despite her anger, Juniper knew better than to stir the pot. Ms. Dixon was right; if she lost this role, there'd be a line of actresses ready to snatch it up.

"Cut!" Oscar yelled, eyes glued to the monitor. "Not bad, good actually. Your eye acting was on point."

Natalie walked over, catching Oscar's praise. A smile crept onto her face. Usually, after wrapping up, Natalie would head back to her hotel room, prepping the next day's lines and practicing her expressions in front of the mirror.

A role needed to be nailed, and every little detail mattered.

No one wanted to see over-the-top expressions on screen.

Oscar rarely handed out compliments, but Natalie had genuinely impressed him.

Maybe it was because he had low expectations for her. He didn't need a newbie like Natalie to nail the role perfectly; he just needed her not to screw up. He could work on her skills over time, but after a week, he was pretty pleased with her performance.

Natalie didn't have much on her resume, and Oscar hadn't seen any of her previous work. She hadn't even auditioned. To sum up, Oscar didn't know her at all.

But now, Oscar was starting to change his mind about Natalie.

Her acting wasn't flawless, but she really got Zoey's character.

Oscar didn't hold back. "I believe in you for the upcoming scenes, and I believe in this film. This movie's gonna be a game-changer for detective flicks!"

Natalie felt pumped, thrilled to get some recognition.

Oscar broke down the scenes for Natalie, pointing out where she needed to step up and diving into Zoey's inner world.

Natalie soaked it all in.

Oscar's advice was sharp and straight to the point. In just a few words, he cleared things up for Natalie.

Zoey was a vivid character, with determined eyes, a fresh college grad, and just an ordinary girl with a weak personality. There were tons of girls like her in real life, and playing them seemed easy but was actually the hardest.

The simpler the role, the more effort it took to nail it.
