Chapter 485 The Gift for Her

She paused for a sec, glanced at Bella, and asked, "So, is your friend always living overseas? When's she coming back?"

Bella had no clue when this made-up 'friend' would return.

Bella fibbed, "She's got a ton of properties. Just let Rosalie crash here."

Natalie shook her head. "Can you get in touch with her? I wanna buy this place."

Without missing a beat, Bella said, "Sure thing, I'll hit her up right now. You start packing."

Bella headed to the bathroom, pulled out her phone, and tried calling Daniel.

After a few failed attempts, she went back to the bedroom. "She's probably tied up and didn't pick up. I'll let you know once she gets back to me."

Bella, being Natalie's good friend, noticed something was off with her lately. She figured it was 'cause of Rosalie's illness. Bella knew about Rosalie's condition; even though she had a kidney transplant, it wasn't a forever fix.

No matter how good someone else's organ was, it still wasn't her own.

Who knew what issues might pop up after a kidney transplant, or how long she could live?

Bella suggested, "Natalie, how about I order some food, and we have a barbecue here tonight?"

Natalie nodded. They packed up Natalie's usual stuff. Soon enough, Derek's car was parked downstairs. He came up and moved Natalie's things to Celestial Garden.

He handed the keys to Natalie. "Ms. Teeger, Celestial Garden's all set up, you can move in whenever."

Natalie thanked him.

That night, she and Bella had a barbecue at home.

She'd been living in Blue Mountain Community for almost a year, and a lot had happened in that time.

Natalie took a sip of beer, the cool liquid soothing her throat.

Bella said, "Natalie, I'm moving to the Reynolds family."

Natalie looked at her.

Bella smiled. "But I'm actually happy 'cause I wanna be with Austin."

When she mentioned Austin, Bella's eyes lit up. "I used to hear all these rumors that Austin was on his deathbed, couldn't do anything. I didn't wanna be stuck in a marriage of convenience, especially not with someone I'd never met who had disabilities. But these past few days at the Reynolds family, getting to know Austin, I found out he's nothing like the rumors. We have so much in common; the books he's read, the movies he likes, I like too. I discovered he's a person of character, cultured and kind."

Bella's eyes stayed bright. "I don't know if this is love, but I wanna take care of him for life. Even though he's the eldest son of the Reynolds family, his life hasn't been easy. God's already been pretty harsh to him."

Natalie knew Bella wasn't drunk. "You sure about this?"

Bella nodded. "I've never been more sure."

Natalie smiled. "Then I wish you all the best, Bella."

The next day, Natalie moved to Celestial Garden, a 1,200 square foot, fully furnished two-bedroom, two-living room apartment. From the floor-to-ceiling windows on the 12th floor, she could see the Riverland Bridge and the ocean. She opened the window, and the breeze blew in. Natalie looked at the view and got a bit lost in thought.

From this angle, she could see the Cullen Mansion, which looked tiny, like a grain of sand in the galaxy.

Just then, her phone rang. Natalie glanced at it; it was Adrian calling.

She answered. "Hey."

Adrian asked, "Do you like it?"

Natalie looked at the view, knowing he meant the apartment. "Yeah, I like it."
