Chapter 760 Skillful Techniques
Half an hour later, Heather came barreling in.
"Hey, you okay?" Heather looked freaked out.
Natalie was supposed to be having a blast on her trip, but things went sideways real quick.
Natalie shook her head. "I'm good now."
Seeing Natalie was alright, Heather let out a sigh of relief. "Did you lose your ID, bank card, and phone? Was there a lot of cash in the bank card? Did you lock it right away?"
Natalie shook her head. "Just some pocket money, a few grand for the trip to the old town. No biggie. My ID's in my suitcase."
Heather asked, "How you feeling now? Any discomfort? I'll go with you to get a new card and phone."
"Sure."
Natalie rubbed her temples. She had a slight fever, but it wasn't a big deal.
Natalie wasn't one to make a fuss.
After grabbing a bite, she and Heather headed out to get a new SIM card and phone. Heather mentioned her boyfriend had a buddy who owned a barbecue joint and asked if Natalie wanted to go there later.
Natalie nodded. "Yeah, let's do it. I've been craving some barbecue."
With her fever, she couldn't taste much, so she wanted something with a kick.
After getting the new card, they hit up a coffee shop. Natalie, masked and hatted, fiddled with her new phone, entering an assortment of verification codes. New phone, new hassles. Heather called Yancy to pick them up for the barbecue later.
Natalie said, "I was gonna bring you some desserts. They were super good, really soft."
"As long as you're okay. I don't need those desserts," Heather said, linking arms with her. "How did this even happen? This place is supposed to be safe for tourists. These creeps target young, pretty girls to sell them. It's not their first rodeo. Super dangerous."
"They were pros, using drugs in public like it was nothing," Natalie said, still shaken.
Heather added, "There's gotta be a whole operation behind this. Be careful when you go out."
"What operation?" a guy's voice chimed in from behind.
Heather turned to see Yancy walking over.
Heather said, "Natalie, meet Yancy, my boyfriend."
Yancy joined them. Heather scooted over, letting him sit. Yancy checked out the girl across from Heather. She was thin, wearing a hat, with a black mask pulled down to her chin. Her eyes were stunning, unforgettable. She had this ethereal vibe. Yancy had never seen anyone like her.
Yancy said, "Hey, I'm Yancy."
Natalie smiled. "I'm Natalie."
Yancy sat down and ordered a coffee.
Yancy asked Heather, "What operation were you talking about?"
Heather glanced at Natalie and said, "Natalie went to the old town for a trip and got kidnapped. The guys who did it are part of a slick operation. Another pretty girl got nabbed, too. They target pretty girls to sell them."
Yancy frowned. "Where did this go down?"
